Just a bloke who defies modern sports science's idea of a perfect footballers body. This is just a footballer who knows when to run, when to jump and is so big no one gets in his way. Top 5 player in the competition for me. A superstar.

The Gov is as tough as nails , what a star ! reminds me of Chris Mainwaring playing out the 1992 GF with a broken foot

He went past Rance a long time ago. Rance is a log! McGovern is an out and out footballer.

Not quite on a par with Fyfe starring in a prelim with a broken leg,but pretty close. Looks like the Wim Hof breathing might have helped, along with the painkilling injections, the six massages a day,the blood draining and the feet-up approach. It sounds like the physicians around some soon-to-be-defunct king. I'm surprised they didn't use leeches and clysters of cow dung He ,and the Eagles, were certainly keen for him to play. Compared to Martin, who had a bad corkie and played and had no impact, yeah, McGovern is superhuman. Having Cox and Mihocek "fall " on you wouldn't help your ribs either. He just didn't show it He is an amazing player . For all his size,196cm and 99 kgs,he moves pretty well and marks like a dream. No wonder he's gone past Rance as the best defender in the AFL
