Please forgive me if I'm wrong,but my memory tells me that in 1977 Phil Carman appealed a two match suspension on the grounds that it did not include two Grand Finals as there was a Grand final draw that year.Unfortunately for him the suspension was upheld.It seems to me he was hard done by ,going by what you can get away with to-day.
I didn't really criticise anyone,just made a general comment and then clearly stated it is was it is.
I could easily think of a dozen AFL rulings to be more concerned about than this regarding what's fair and unfair.
People only care about their club,their opinions are clearly based around this.
Betting in a game you're involved in any form is wrong. Influencing a game you are involved with is wrong. Same could be said when a club deliberately loses games for higher draft picks.
In finality, the punishment should fit the crime.
Betting against your team is bad because you could influence the outcome?
Betting on goals scored or possessions gathered isn't something you could influence the outcome of?
