Fair call, I retract.

Why this year’s Brownlow Medal count will be one for the ages

I really want a non-midfielder to win. Grundy has shown so much dominance and influence all year. If a year like his can’t win the Brownlow then I can’t see a non-midfielder ever wining again.

Why this year’s Brownlow Medal count will be one for the ages

I far from believe the tigers are impotent and actually think the tigers to be fav to at least make the GF. Anything can happen on the big day.
From my weekend observations I just think the lions are the team with more upside to their performance though I’m sure the tigers won’t be letting Neale grab 50 odd again. Both teams have 2 weeks to prepare and the winner will be deserving.
I just hope I can get tickets cause it’s going to be a cracker, even for a non supporter of either team like myself.
I love your confidence though. I wish I had the same for my team.

Nine in row: Tigers loom large in September

A forum is for people to give their opinion, being an expert or not. I notice you aren’t immune from providing yours.

Nine in row: Tigers loom large in September

I think lions have more upside from Sundays game then the tigers. The lions won a lot of important stats and will be confident in addressing the shortfalls at their fortress home ground. If the lions change up the back half for a few less inside 50 marks, they should be on their way to the 3rd week of the finals.

Betting in a game you’re involved in any form is wrong. Influencing a game you are involved with is wrong. Same could be said when a club deliberately loses games for higher draft picks.
In finality, the punishment should fit the crime.

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

Your opinion is 22 weeks is fair, mine is 22 is over the top.
I wasn’t there when he spoke up but I’m guessing he was advised to report, not forced to report. You are right they appear to be well educated in these things and he shown remorse and taken it on the chin. He may or may not be stupid but I think he is clearly naive.
This will happen again and is probably happening already.
That all said, if someone is clearly betting against their team to lose no amount of suspension would be enough. It would be criminal and should be treated as such.

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

My understanding is the game he sent through a huge torp for a goal cost him a multi. He must be either really stupid or maybe he is just a very naive young 20 year old living in a completely different world to most of us.

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

Probably a lot more than we know about.

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

He bet on his team to win. It was a couple of dollars in multi bets as I understand. Lets be clear, he wasn’t betting against his team and then attempting to lose. He was advised by a teammate to report and took his advice and reported.
This by no way means I condone his actions or that of any other doing the same thing. The kid was dumb and took his punishment. You can can gripe about the length of the suspension all you like but it was far more than anything anyone else has sustained for the like.
I’m guessing you’re a saint and never did anything stupid when you where that young…

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

Turn it up!
He’s spent more time out then any other player for similar offense plus he has another 12 weeks hanging over. The young fella was dumb but he did self report, he could have just kept quiet once he spoke to his teammate, and it has cost him 10s of thousands.
Total over reaction.

'Rorting the system': AFL blasted for Jaidyn Stephenson loophole

Agreed, 8-10 goals.

Collingwood vs Essendon: Friday night forecast

You tipped all the favourites, hard not to. Probably the easiest week for tipping but no doubt the likes of power, crows or dees will throw a spanner in the works.

Tips and thoughts: AFL Round 23

I’m sure the beams deal would have taken up a bit of the cap space. A few players will be out at years end and a few will be upgraded. May be able to fit him in.
I think the dogs would be taking a serious at the big guy. They could do with a big forward, and they have form re GWS.
I’m not sure the hawks are too far off. They just need to play the pies every week and they are a shoe in.

Giant Patton's AFL season over: Cameron

Loved it especially the “maybe Jason was coaching that week” line.

WATCH: Anthony Seibold savages Souths assistant coach

Being a pies supporter I would love to see them give him a crack. Though considering their poor performance on the injury and rehabilitation front over the past 10 years I would suggest he go elsewhere. Whoever gets him on the park as a regular player will surely benefit.

Giant Patton's AFL season over: Cameron

I don’t understand why he is so heavily linked to the hawks. Why would no other team be looking at him and vise versa?

Giant Patton's AFL season over: Cameron

Yeah… what a load of garbage. I hate to admit it but I would chose hawks followed by cats as on field success is the only thing anyone remembers. If the swans had won the two GFs they should not have lost, only then would they be genuine leaders.

Hawthorn are not the best AFL club of the decade

Valid points Justin. I think you are right, they are flying under because they aren’t in the top four. In reality they are 1 game back from the quartet, assuming tigers get over the lions. I think they will finish 5th and easily dispatch the bombers first week. I think they would prefer the cats over the tigers in the second week. They would back themselves against the lions at the Gabba, like most teams. Should be an interesting finals series.

Are the Magpies flying under the radar?

Whoa big call. That would definitely throw a spanner in the works. I like it…

AFL finals predictions heading into Round 23

Broncos need to win as many games as sharks or panthers and they make it. Tough ask considering their remaining games. Knights still a sneaky chance of making it.

If you think rugby league’s ‘gone soft’, you’re wrong

Why would the bombers want to travel to play GWS? More likely they will try some new tactics this week to win the return game in the finals.

Rounding up the season’s possibilities

Love the benefit of hindsight. Definitely no hate here.
I only got to watch the first half of the lions v cats game and thought the home team had the better of it. 1 point in the end was fitting.
The top 4 are all looking great, add to that the pies and dogs and this will be a serious finals series.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 22

Interesting read. I’ll be interested to see where the Brownlow ends up.

The AFL enters the home stretch

Fair point. Simpson probably hasn’t been out boozing through the week either.
