Australia will be after a clean sweep of their ODI series against New Zealand as the two teams lock horns for Game 3, in Aussie captain Aaron Finch’s final 50-over match. Join The Roar for live scores from 2:20pm AEST.

Finch announced his one-day retirement on Saturday after a prolonged form slump, having scored just 26 runs at 5.2 in five matches against Zimbabwe and the Black Caps this series.

While Finch is continuing on as Australian T20 skipper, he will be keen to finish a glittering ODI career on a high, having joined a rare group to have claimed both ODI and T20I World Cups.

Indeed. Was NSW captain for a couple of seasons. Have read his autobio and remember his commentary from the early 80s.

Oh. You must google Frankie Davidson, Ball Bearing Bird song. This site will block U Toob, so can't link! - I'm happy for Finch to be kept on as non-playing captain. He could be like a groupie for the team.

From your youth, Jeff? A suggestion that a fluke dismissal was somehow planned will lead to calls for Finch to be kept on as a non-playing captain.

Did you know that Alan McGilvray was competing with his NSW team mate Stan McCabe for a test spot in the 1930s?

Ah yes, the Warner-bird? Similar to the Ball Bearing Bird. Has never been seen. Has never been heard. It's said to be known to be roaming around. For it scatters ball bearings, all over the ground. - I often feel flat that I missed out on the hallucinogens of the '60s.
