Australia will begin life without David Warner against the West Indies in a two-Test series beginning in Adelaide. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10:30am (AEDT).
Warner’s retirement has seen Australia shuffle their line-up, with Steve Smith moving up to open and Cameron Green taking the vacant spot at number four.
Having defeated Pakistan 3-0 in a hard-fought series, the Aussies will be confident of a summer clean sweep over an undermanned Windies, who have several big names unavailable for a variety of reasons.
The tourists have announced three debutants for the Test, with middle-order batters Kavem Hodge and Justin Greaves plus express paceman Shamar Joseph to play their first matches.

Uzzie doesn’t count? Green is at 4 so seen as good enough to play as a batter regardless of bowling. Marsh has been best batter this summer.

Yes exactly. We're not getting into the fifth day with a worn pitch so why not take advantage of the green tinge on day 1

School was on and Perth has a near 100% employment rate, still got in 17,000 on Day 1 against an average side.

He probably is.

#4 looks OK. Hasn't been dismissed in Tests all summer.

Any statistical analysis of Marnus would have predicted this though. His test average is coming back to his FC average. He was the beneficiary of an extraordinary amount of luck in the previous summers with dropped catches.

Well said, Mr Murray. Well said.

In fairness Perth got a pre-holiday test. I feel capital cities #3-6 are going to get even more shafted as time goes by.

I realise Aus are only 2 wickets down, but all that’s left is 1 genuine batsman HEAD - 2 all rounders , a WK than can score an occasional 40-60. Then it’s all tail Enders . The batting line up just looks weak to me . The tail is definitely too long . Any thoughts ?
