Devon Conway is the batsman you are thinking of. Another Saffa Kiwi to watch is Michael Rippon (left handed leggie/Chinaman) allrounder.

in NZL Before Christmas, field first. After Christmas, bat first.
Jamieson is a hell of a prospect. Destroyed India last year, add that to the two wonderboy batsmen (Will Young and the Sth African/Kiwi boy so good I can't remember his name) - we might have a team to challenge a few nations again after our woeful tour of Australia last year.
Just bad luck and good bowling that it kept a little low and came back at 45 degrees. Maybe he could have got his front pad involved but that might not save him even though it would have struck him outside the line since he wasn't playing a shot. .. just a tough ball to cop first up. Better him than me is all I can say.
What are the pitches likely to be like, Targa? He's obviously a handful when there's something in the surface, but de Grandhomme might be a better bet if there's not a lot on offer.
Would they pick him and de Grandhomme and maybe leave out Southee?
He's in some insanely good form. I'm wondering if we will pick a 4-man pace attack (Boult, Southee, Jamieson, Wagner) vs the Windies with 6 batsmen and De Grandhomme missing out.
He did very well agai
Looked like there was a bit happening from the pitch. First ball held it's line or maybe moved away, the next climbed and the third came back like an off break.
Kudos to the bowler for putting deliveries in good spots though.
That hat trick ball looked short enough to go over the top most days. Can't blame the batsman for wanting to let it go. The fact it jagged back a mile didn't help the poor bugger either.

Good to see some talent coming through for NZ so they don't embarrass themselves by touring Australia with only one real bowler again.

Letting it go was the right shot selection. The ball was so good he can't really cop blame other than switching off after deciding what to do.

Usually the Roar's headlines are absurd hyperbole by that is some delivery to get a hat-trick. It has jaggd a mile.
