Any series against South Africa (these days), Zim, Bang, SriL, NZ, Windies, Pakistan are all less challenging than Shield games.
Ashes and India are the only 2 series that ever rise to the heights of Shield cricket.
That was Taylor's point. When the pressure was on Mark Waugh stepped up. When the pressure was gone he became disinterested. Same as Victor Trumper.

He's an allrounder that as of current, has better FC stats than any current Aussie bar Steve Smith. He'd play at 5/6 and most definitely strengthen the bowling. Take this pretty damning statistic, travis head has made 13 FC hundreds in 193 innings, Cameron Green has made 4 FC hundreds in 27 innings......no surprise whose head is on the chopping block if they don't perform against India big time. Once he starts bowling again he will take some the ridiculous load off Nathan Lyons shoulders to tie up an end for 7-8 overs.

Prove that he bowls that quick please. Dont spread gross hyperbole just because you're a parochial western australian

Yeah for sure, we have picked way too many guys on the back of only a few big scores, then they get 2-3 tests and when they dont perform, which isnt surprising because they were never really in unpickable form, they get dropped and it crushes their confidence.
Cameron Green looking very nice though, definitely a debut before his 22nd birthday.
Yep, definitely. He needs to be better than the incumbent is the only thing I would add. I don't think we can afford to weaken the batting to bolster what is already an excellent bowling attack.
If he does get picked sometime in the next year or so where would he bat? The obvious spot would be 6, which means they would have to drop Wade or whoever is batting there at the time. Also, would we need to keep all 4 main bowlers. I'm thinking probably yes because I don't want to see us weaken our attack to fit him in.
He was hiding the fact he was crying.
Strange how a discussion about a bright young kid's 197 has become a conversation about Bernie's umpiring career.
Celebrate the kid!

They would struggle to beat Holland now. This is no longer the team you are excited by.

Funny thing to say when the saffies have won their last three trips over here as well as our last one over there.

You'd have to think we're not in particularly brilliant shape if Wade's one of our best 6 batsmen ...

If he's one of the best 6 batsmen in the land then bat him at 6 and strengthen the bowling even more.

In the 1990s yes but not any more. Long since not any more. Test players rarely feature for one thing.

Still made the Hall of Fame. Does that say something of their criteria, or our expectations?

5 wickets on debut as a 17yo for WA. Followed that with a 10 wicket haul (including a 7 for). Bowl 150kph plus outswingers.
