The beauty about this sort of forum is that these sorts of comments mean I don't have to read anything else you post because I know those remarks are only going to be insulting or inane. I look forward to ignoring you in the future.
Thanks for explaining that JamesH and apologies Munro I totally hadn't got the point you were trying to make even though now I re read and you made it clearly
Saying that, it may be the letter of the law but you're asking a lot of drs to be able to pick up an 'impact patch'. It can barely pick up the whole ball. By extension the drs line for where the ball pitches really has to be the whole ball but with the seam, it's not purely spherical so an impact glancing the seam will effect that line. I think that's well beyond drs and this was way too close to expect a human umpire to reliably judge
Hardly the worst decision of the match anyway and very little effect on the outcome. The rohit no shot lbw was the worst call for me
It's tough to know what he was thinking when his first innings was reviewed. Bear in mind, he didn't specifically request a review, the umpire decided to do so. Yes he seemed to think maybe the keeper had knocked off the bails, but I guess the umpire did too, hence the review. If the ump was certain, I don't understand why he didn't simply put up his finger?
I agree though, the current batch of commentators around the traps certainly seem to have no trouble whinging ifan Aussie does something even remotely questionable.
I didn't see that but if your account is accurate, it is unacceptable. I'm an Australian fan so I'm hardly a Stokes apologist.
My main issue is the rank hypocrisy of many commenters here, who would lose their minds if Tim Paine blew up at an umpire in a similar manner, but applaud it when Kohli does it.
I agree on this one that he had every right to blow up, what annoys me is the fact that had it been Paine (or Smith or god forbid Warner) you'd be going on about poor sportsmanship; Michael Vaughan, Gough, Gavaskar and any other former player with a media gig would be screaming blue murder too. I think the reason a lot of Aussies jump on Kohli's antics is because the Aussies can't sneeze without offending someone, yet he gets away with refusing to walk after being given out etc.
Geez I'm usually easily incensed by Kohli getting away with his antics but that was plumb, impact was on middle stump! Anyone should be given a free pass to blow up at such a terrible decision, what a stinker
And what about Ben Stokes behaviour with Rishabh Pant, when he decided he knew how to umpire the game on day 1? Root started that by arguing with Pant then Stokes joined in, so much so the umpires had to separate the two players.
My answer is, the Poms are far from being angels.

To be fair though, Paine is a bog avergae cricketer. Especially when compared to Kolhi.

Quit attacking Paul just because you disagree with him. This here's a classic example of a tu quoque argument.

Nah, Virat is cool. Fierce competitor but a good guy. He stuck up for Steve Smith when most others were acting like he’d killed the Pope.

I unironically think this is a good idea.

Nope. That decision was hopeless by an incompetent umpire. It was out on every viewing.

The head on camera clearly shows it was line ball. I’ve seen far far worse decisions.
