The Canberra Raiders will look to keep pace with the top four when they take on the Brisbane Broncos at GIO Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:35pm (AEST).

The Raiders had their three-game winning streak snapped last week after getting outclassed by Penrith 28-12. Sitting in fifth on the ladder with 16 points, their spot in the eight is probably safe but, with the Roosters wobbling, could sneak into double-chance territory if they get on a run.

Conversely, 2020 can’t end soon enough for the beleaguered Broncos. They may have shown a bit on the field in their loss to South Sydney last week, but have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons all week and, at 15th on the ladder, are limping towards this season’s finish line.

Canberra snapped a six-game losing run against Brisbane last year with a thrilling 26-22 win at GIO Stadium. They’ve won three of their four proper home games this season – with the one loss coming to Melbourne. The Broncos had won three straight games at this venue prior to last year’s loss.

McFadden is doing all the game plan, technical coaching I'm reliably informed. CHN is a beauty. Plenty of effort in attack & defence, he will fill the void of Bateman next year, plus we get him this year. I hope Jarrod Croaker was playing injured. In the first half, he was slow, too slow. Maybe Jarrod need to move to the wing & get the best out of Cotric at centre for the rest of the year. Our defence is proven to be solid. We now need to focus on our attack based on offloads & unpredictability. 2016 like attack. Regardless of what happens for the rest of the year, as long as they give it a red hot go I'm happy. New year, Hodson, Sia, Simmonson back along with Ryan James. I can't wait. I have always liked the way James has played the game. He's come to the Raiders to win a premiership. Here's hoping.

Got to give some credit to the Broncos in the first half - they were definitely up for it. And I thought the Raiders defence was pretty decent. But the refs were certainly giving Brisbane a leg up with all those 6 agains. Maybe a couple of them were justified when the Raiders were scrambling in defence - but I was shaking my head at some of those decisions in the middle of the field. What for? And then in the second half when we had all the momentum we couldn't buy a 6 again. Really like the structure of the team at the moment. Looks like George had been given the keys to the engine - he is much more influential than Jack in terms of directing the team's attack. And seems to be working on both sides of the ruck. Jack is still a work in process but has a ton of energy. Jack still needs to work on his kicking. There were a few times when he kicked for touch when we were on the attack when he should have been looking to put the Broncos under pressure. Really like the look of the new bloke CHN on the bench - reminded me of club legend Ruben Wiki with some of those runs. Powerful weapon to have on the bench with Joe Tapine. Maybe we are still a chance this year. I certainly haven't written them off unlike some of the so-called experts. And thought that Ricky showed some smart coaching by resting Papa and Lui in the second half. I've been impressed with Ricky's coaching in the past two years and I suspect Andrew McFadden has been a big help as well.

Geoff, I was so angry by half time. The Raiders were flat, but they had no ball & continual defence. I can't understand how they started the game with zero intensity. There was no go forward when we had the ball & no driving defence. I think that the lack of zip contributed to the Referee's thinking that they were playing slowly in the ruck & the more 6 again's they had against them the more fatigued they became. Half time was a good thing. I loved the last 40 minutes. What a team, considering the injuries we have. Sia & Horsborugh would have made a huge difference to the intensity of the team in the first half. Good result, the effort was there & that's all I look for as a fan.

True. Funny that a Raiders player did the same thing a little later.

Another dreadful refereeing performance - over the match Sutton awards seven 6 agains to Brisbane and one to Canberra - frustrating to watch with Broncos players laying all over Raiders trying to play the ball and nothing given. Luckily it didn't impact on the game as Brisbane struggled to score and then fell like a pack of cards in the second half. The decision making that goes into awarding 6 agains by some refs is very questionable. Beggars belief that Canberra only received one six again in that match.

Charging from last years performance to date, the team started to collapse last year until this year you have seen how dismantled the team is. Seibold needs be sacked immediately!!! Not at the end of the season! Right away! Players like Milford, bird seriously are not worth millions! If it was for me I would've kept hunt and release Milford and buy norman from para instead of bird last season. Seibold, Milford, bird, and the whole board needs to be replaced for the betterment of the team come 2021.

If he hasn't by now he wont be until this amazing idea of a "review" at the end of the year.

First let me say I am no Seibold fan, as a coach he is a disaster. However Seibs couldn't win this week no matter what Brisbane did. If they won, then Seibs looks a fool because someone else can coach the team better than he can. If they lost then it is a continuation of the Seibold disaster. He would be well advised to stay in Sydney, just call the Broncs and resign.

Just got back from the pub where I saw this game. Another day in the life of the Broncos, another flogging. And they can't completely blame Siebold for this loss. The players lost this one all by themselves. Some of the defence in the second stanza was dreadful.

You’ve got a winger who doesn’t have the fundamental common sense to catch a ball with one foot over the touchline to make it out on the full..it’s his duty to know that.

Cans we have a second team to support in Brisbane, please? Even the Crushers were better.

Not sure about that, he’s still the coach. His team, his coaching staff, his defensive structure.

Whoever is teaching these kids defensive structure should be fired. No structure, no confidence and caught out e wry single time. For decent first grade teams it’s like a training run against the Broncs

I really need to start supporting a different team. (sighs) The only thing I can say in Brisbane's defence is that the ref tolerated some slow play the balls. I'm not a good judge of dummy half service, but metres were scare around the time when Turpin was off and Haas and Carrigan were probably tiring. They're short a consistent prop. Flegler veers between being a beast and being completely ineffectual, they put an edge forward and a hooker on the bench, and only gave Kennedy 10 minutes. They need to distribute the workload better.
