Hi Taree - you are spot on - when you are at the game you are a bit too far away to see all the spoiling tactics in the ruck. You kept wondering why Raiders players were taking so long to play the ball. And I can imagine it was a deliberate tactic by Dessie and assistant Brett White. Ricky has been pretty good in his press conferences this year. Brutally honest about the poor performance against the Sharks and his comments about Des last night. And agree about Kasey Badger. She is an excellent video ref and I was impressed with how she controlled things last night. I don't think Des had much to whinge about. You could see how the Titans were using spoiling tactics to slow the Raiders down. he got away with it when he coached Manly. Young Stewart came for a long way back to smother the kick from Foran. It felt like he was taking far too long to take his kick live. Still a lot to work in attack in the 20 metre zone but we'll take the win.

Geoff, I had the watch the game in patches whilst at work on my phone. I thought that the Titans totally smothered the Raiders with their holding down. That's what stifled the game, every six again was warranted. I think Hasler had a plan & that was it, wrestle Canberra out of attacking opportunities. Having Casey Badger in charge, she was also the target, to her credit she was consistent. I've always liked her as a Referee & it's good to see her do an NRL game. Next time she may sin bin repeat offenders. Overall I couldn't help but admire the way the Titans never gave up, they did so much defence & almost got the win. Stewart was good, but gee we missed Rapana. I just saw a replay of the press conference. I agree with Ricky 100% for once. Go you good things.

Tough watch at the game - but I'll take a win any day of the week. In that last few minutes when AJ Brimson made that break I thought we were cooked - but then Chevy Stewart makes that incredible block when Foran took to long to have his first attempt at field goal.. Then I thought a draw is as good as we are going to get with less than a couple of minutes left and then Strange make s a run out of nowhere and a few tackles later Fogarty nails the field goal with less than 10 seconds left. The Raiders were very very lucky to get out of gaol there. A couple of great bits of play by two of their youngsters saved them the embarrassment of a draw or a loss. There were some plays by Jamal Fogarty that he'd like to have over again. A huge kick into the air on the half way point to gift position back to the Titans when he should have kicked into the corners and forced the Titans to bring it out of defence. A dumb chip kick that didn't work. His decision making needs some work. Tapine was simply amazing. Over 300 metres. And young Stewart hardly put a foot wrong in his first game at full back - and made that game saving block towards the end. The Titans were very good all night. And never gave up. They should take a lot out of that game. The Raiders need a lot of work on finishing their sets in the 20 metre zone. The Titans aimed up defensively but the Raiders didn't threaten them enough in attack. A win is a win but The Raiders need to do more if they want to be a threat.

And the Rabbitohs deserve to have their full squad fit and available to play every week. This is Rugby League teams don't usually get what they deserve. Unless you are one of the NRL Triumvirate teams in which case the NRL does 'the rub of the green' on your behalf. :silly:

I feel sorry for AJ Brimson. What more could he do after that long break to put a win on a platter for the Titans.

It was like casual shot at the end of a training session when you have all the time in the world. He looked like he was daydreaming.
