Round 5 of the NRL season ends tonight when the Canberra Raiders and Parramatta Eels square off at GIO Stadium in Canberra. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 6.15pm (AEST).

The Raiders would have been feeling the wrath of Ricky Stuart this week. We will see if that is enough to topple an Eels team who remain without the injured Mitchell Moses.

For Canberra, Zac Hosking suffered a head knock against the Sharks and is out. Canberra’s lack of back-row depth has been laid bare with Ata Mariota set to start on an edge with Elliott Whitehead still sidelined with a calf injury.

Parramatta have stuck with the 17 that lost to the Tigers save for Bailey Simonsson‘s return from injury in the centres. Morgan Harper drops out.

Prediction

Canberra is a different team at home and they will be embarrassed by their capitulation last weekend. I think they will get home against a team missing Mitchell Moses’ game management. Raiders by 4

Geoff, I was shattered after the Sharks 'balls up'. However, as usual I never give up hoping. All I want as a fan is for them to go out & give their guts, nothing more or less. If they win, that's great, if they loose I'll cop it. The whole of the 30 man squad is of NRL standard, Schiller is lacking, just as Savage was two years ago, put Schiller back into the Cup squad & let him get better there. Why hasn't Mooney been given a go? Coming from Taree, there was a certain Mitchell Barnett playing part time first grade for the Raiders, who Ricky didn't like & therefore he wasn't given a go. Look how that turned out? I think Barnett played extra well against us in the Warriors game, just to prove the point. We have the squad, let's just hope the team is picked on form, not favouritism. P.S. is Jordan Rapana in the best 13 Raiders ever?

The Eels are missing Mitchell Moses however he doesn't make the difference when 41 points are scored. They may tinker with the halves but it was the 35 missed tackles which cost them. It doesn't get any easier for the Eels, with the Cowboys paying a visit next Saturday night.

If Ricky Stuart couldn't one good player last week, he shouldn't have any issues tonight. That was an impressive win tonight by the Raiders. It was set up by a good platform from the Raiders pack. Ethan Strange is something special and Canberra's backline was electric. Stuart would be happy with the intent but also the execution. The Raiders gets the chance to go back to back against the Titans next Sunday

Liking Sasagi in the team - keeps things going - so much to like with the younger blokes in this Raiders team - Strange, Timoko, Savage, Sasagi, Mariota ... Looking good for the future.
