The Parramatta Eels travel to Docklands in Melbourne to take on the hot and cold Melbourne Storm. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 8pm AEST.
Losing two of their past three games has cast doubt on the Storm and whether they can challenge for the premiership. Justin Olam is dropped for Young Tonumaipea while Reimis Smith is out injured alongside Nelson Asofa-Solomona. Marion Seve comes in for the injured Smith while Eli Katoa could be promoted to starting second rower after being named on the bench.
The Eels are currently holding on to eighth spot, and a tough draw for the rest of the season means it is make or break time for the visitors. Andrew Davey moves to the starting side over Shaun Lane (injury), while new signing Joey Lussick is set to come off the bench.
The Storm rarely lose two games in a row, but their record over the Eels since 2021 is poor – including a loss at home last year. However, the Eels may find it one hurdle too many with Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Shaun Lane unavailable. Storm by 4

Parra have some work to do. They'll threaten nobody with a performance like that. For all the praise I have been giving Bryce Cartwright he stood and looked at the King try. No effort to try and stop him. The big guns fired for Melbourne after their game last week. The whole team had a case of egoitis which was taken care of by Bellyache. I put their win tonight down to the coaching maestro who pulled them into line.

Time for another time where I compare an NRL side to a non rugby league team. This time I’m comparing the Storm 2023 team is to the Pakistan cricket team. Extremely talented across the park, but the consistency is not there. However, if they make the NRL top four and then have three of the best games of their lives, then a premiership is possible. However, they must show they are competitive against the top boys as they have a big game against the Panthers in Penrith next week.

Parra still struggling with their unfair of treatment at the rep's table. Gutho must be SMson, all of a sudden ????

FT MEL 46 PAR 16 The Storm continue to show to the rest of the competition that they are not pushovers. Brilliant performance after a slow start today. The spine was on song, and they never let go after the lead. A big blow for the Eels as they remain out of the NRL top eight

80’ Knock on from the Eels. Will the Storm set up for the scrum? No they won’t. And that’s full time. Storm win!

Well played, Storm. Played the full 80 minutes, with intent & purpose. Looked far better, with a weakened team, than we have, with a full roster, recently. Good call, thanks Arnab ( even if slightly slanted).

Parramatta defence looked like a revolving door, king Gutha reduced to a duke.
