Top four is on the line for the Manly Sea Eagles as they head to Townsville to take on the North Queensland Cowboys. Follow along as Saturday footy continues with live scores on The Roar from 5:30pm (AEST).

Last week’s 38-26 win over the Dragons at least ensures the Cowboys won’t end the season with twelve consecutive losses. While their defence was again leaky, the strength of their attack won the day, with four tries in eight minutes during a barnstorming second half giving fans plenty of upside to take into the off-season.

That said, those defensive lapses will be punished by a Manly side with bigger fish to fry from here. The Roosters’ Thursday night win over the Raiders means the Sea Eagles will have to win here to secure fourth spot; but a loss would be disastrous for more reasons than just their end ladder spot heading into the finals.

Taniela Paseka (ankle) and Sean Keppie (personal) will both make their returns off the bench in Townsville; while for the Cowboys, Coen Hess is back from his biceps injury, with Lachlan Burr to miss through concussion.

It is like when fielding a deep kick off the receiver plants his foot over the dead ball line and gets a penalty. In this case brushing past the defender over the dead ball line is play over the dead ball line or out of play. The defender could easily have stopped the play but it looked like he was avoiding the ball. As expected a big win to Manly.

For some weird reason under Dr Des always show up for a big game yet unbackable favourites stumble and the Cows played one of there better games tonight.

I like Todd Payton but his press conference should have been how good his young team played tonight considering but instead bagged his young inexperienced nrl side for not putting Manly 2021 away like he was playing for a grand final berth! The cowboys had a big dig and unsettled Manly tonight and we’re only 10 mins off is he kidding or what!

Their peaks are the gold standards of the modern fullback peaks- until now. That's what i tried to type. 6 or 7 of these tryscoring seasons and he'll be a better scorer than Slater, even if he's gotta win a title to be in that debate. i shouldnt come near this website on weekends when my diction is affected.

The opposition has no bearing on whether you're dead though. As I've said before, if that was the rule, then all you'd have to do to get a bloke out of bounds is put your own foot on the line during the tackle.

You lost me a Barba even if you're half cut  . Hayne had 3 good seasons out of 10 and when all is said and done, will be an afterthought when people talk about great players. Turbo looks like the real deal but let's review in 7-8 years if his body holds up.

Cows have never forgottten or forgiven Hand of Foran knock-on for a try. You were lucky to get away with an $18.50 glass of shiraz after showing your colours Hard Yards.

Immortal? Calm down… that’s a title reserved for the all-time elite. He’s nowhere near that yet. As for Barba and Hayne, one’s a wife-beater and the other’s a convicted r-pist. They don’t belong anywhere near a conversation about the game.

Touching a dead player should make that player dead. The Cowboy was shepherding the ball and he was dead. The video ref has allowed the game to continue over the dead ball line. I haven't seen that before.

Harper has been one of the unsung heroes of the season for mine. He works well with Saab and is solid in defence. Suli in the other hand is great when you have the ball but not all that great without it.

RN and Jimmy better luck next time. I stayed at the Sugar Shaker in Townsville earlier in the year for a funeral and went across the Road to the Cows Leagues Club. Ordered a beer and told them it was great to be there because I was a Manly supporter from Sydney. Went back 20 minutes later and ordered a glass of Pepperjack Shiraz. They said , ‘ That’ll be $18.50’.I said that can’t be right became a bottle is only about $20. They looked at me and said, ‘ It’s $18.50 for you’.
