It was a sixth straight loss for North Queensland last week – the longest active losing run in the NRL. After encouraging performances in close losses to Penrith, Manly and Canberra, it was bitterly disappointing to see them get blown away by lowly Gold Coast. With a tough draw to finish the year off, the Cowboys need to lift.
The Rabbitohs strung together successive wins after seeing off the Broncos last week, but they would also be looking to lift as the finals race heats up. With some crucial matches to come in their run home, this is precisely the type of game where Souths need to bank the points.
The Cowboys have dropped their last four matches against South Sydney, including last year’s two meetings 32-16 in Magic Round and 30-18 at home. North Queensland have only won two of seven matches at their new home ground this season – dropping the last three in a row. Souths haven’t played at the venue yet, but did win on their last two visits to Townsville.

Bad luck to the Cows fans, reading through some of these comments everyone is blaming Feldt (what about his GF catch and score? lol) yes that was a stupid strip but the Cows played really well and us Bunny fans should be the ones worried, which we are! The Bunnies just not good enough, letting in 30 points and just craping in for a win, the Cows looked a better team all night and the Bunnies just looked like they were doing catch-up footy!

My god that was a pathetic end from the Cowboys... it was such a limp effort to defend their lead with mere minutes remaining that you'd almost be forgiven for thinking they wanted to lose.

Hampton lost it, Gagai got stripped. Get smarter boys. Feldt wasn’t taken out in the air? Reynolds won it with the boot and Cowboys just kept Souths in the game.

Kyle Feldt shouts the bar tonight. Poor discipline. Coen Hess is not up to Q Cup standard. Time to punt him, what a frustrating waste of talent. Lets see if Hannay has a set. On a positive note I like the rotation between Robson and Granville. Souths winning ugly, but their defence must be a concern. Regularly leaking 20 plus. Old Salty will be on to that once he gets back.

It's not the loudspeakers; it's just a Fox thing on their little scoreboard. Each team has their own sound for when they score; the Eels have electricity crackling, Roosters have a rooster crowing, Storm have thunder, etc. Unfortunately, rabbits don't really make audible noise; so the Bunnies just play "Glory Glory". They're not the only ones; the Sharks have the Jaws theme music, and the Knights have swords clashing together.
