The Parramatta Eels desperately need a return to form, and they’ve got the perfect opportunity to do so against the hapless Brisbane Broncos at home. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:55pm (AEST).

After looking like a minor premiership threat for much of the season, Parramatta’s spot in the top four is now in jeopardy after an extended run of middling form. They’ve failed to score a try in two of their previous three games – a 38-0 demolition at the hands of Souths and a 20-2 drubbing by Penrith. They need to sort things out quickly.

The Broncos are also looking for a reversal of form, because they’re currently in the midst of a club-record nine-game losing streak. After a handful of encouraging performances, they laid an egg against the Gold Coast Titans to stay dangerously close to a club-first wooden spoon.

The Eels have enjoyed romping victories in their last two matches against Brisbane – a 34-6 trouncing in Round 3 this year and last season’s infamous 58-0 demolition in their elimination final.

The question I was contemplating was "who is worth saving?", rather than "who is doing an exemplary job". Kinda lowers the benchmarks. Joe made about 130 metres off 14 runs. Tackle efficiency wasn't great. Kennar looked like match fitness had improved and I liked some of his defense and doing runs fearlessly that go him hammered. The remark about paix wasn't a dig at him. It's just if some of these guys are probably going to be canned, only getting 20 minutes or so behind Luke suggests he's on the outer. I like Luke, but i'd assume he at best has another year in him. So they're using an aged player rather than handing the keys over to someone who might be the future. Granted, it's possible they're managing him (given his age).

Single best thing I’ve done this year is cancel my Fox subscription. I’ve got an extra $60 a month in the old sky rocket but more importantly I’m happier cause I’m not constantly angry when I think about the totally over the top sensationalist criticism of certain teams. Let’s just put it this way; if you don’t have a friend on the panel expect to get bagged out big time!

As a fan .... Parra were ordinary... the last 8 or 9 weeks have been horrible to watch... observations... Jr Paulo is a better half than Moses... we miss D. Brown... he will be something special in the years to come... Gutho still gives his all... total respect... But fact is... we barely put the bottom of the table Broncos away... how the hell are we gonna trouble the otber top 4 sides???

I've been disappointed since 1986 and this weird year is going to get a whole lot stranger yet. Dunno, can't put my finger on who wins, probably come down to the bunker. I'm not as interested in my RL and or the bread and circuses anymore. And I'm not even that old!

“2020 has been terrible for us but at this point in time, we have nowhere to go but up!“ You would hope they move in that direction, one huge step towards movement forward is seeing the back of Boyd. His effort as a senior player of a young side, Is a reflection of the teams performance this year. Lacking intent, desire and guidance. No wonder the young blokes look lost other there. Can’t imagine the senior players in 2006 When he debuted showing this lack of respect towards the jersey.

Joe's defensive lapse led to a try for the Eels. Kennar was okay. Herbie always tries every time he plays and the game experience will help him (he made some poor reads, but game time will eventually eliminate that) Paix appears keen but he hasn't played enough games at NRL level to make the right calls. Yes, it was less of a bloodbath - they showed effort but it was that 5 to 7 minutes in the first half that really cruelled them.

Knock on rules should, only way material momentum would be applied is if you're propelling it fwd.

I think Kennar had a decent game, Joe O contributed and Farnworth had some nice defensive reads. But a stilted attack, losing a half on his first tackle and being very short in the props stakes are a poor combination. They seem to have very limited confidence in paix as a fallback 9 or as a fill in 6. In terms of a position, it's less of a bloodbath than last year's loss to the Eels (when we presumably had a stronger team).

Yeah I do, might be a tight game but unfortunately only because both teams are so underperforming.

So is a Tap on (if its lateral) - a pass ,a knockon or a fwd pass -which rule(s) apply

Congratulations Eels. Hope you go all the way. But I love my Broncos! 2020 has been terrible for us but at this point in time, we have nowhere to go but up! Hopefully we send Boyd out a winner next week (& avoid the spoon)!!! GO BRONCOS!!!!
