The Parramatta Eels host the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 3 action at CommBank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 4.05pm AEDT.
Eels winger Bailey Simonsson (concussion) is out so Blaize Talagi gets an NRL debut in the centre as Morgan Harper shifts to the wing.
Brad Arthur has opted for an all-forward bench, trading Brendan Hands for Luca Moretti. Kelma Tuilagi is named despite an injury against the Panthers. Junior Paulo gets the 10 jumper, but has traded places with Joe Ofahengaue in the run on in both of Parra’s games so far.
Manly winger Tommy Talau is out long term with an ankle injury so Raymond Tuiamalo Vaega comes in. It had been expected that Talau’s knock was serious, but he is named in the extended bench. Josh Schuster will continue to build fitness in NSW Cup.
The Eels are 1-1 after two rounds while Manly have been impressive in winning their pair of matches but Parra’s home-ground advantage should get them the win. Eels by 4

If the bunker doesn't get that obstruction call wrong, it's a 30-28 win to Manly. I don't know how to make it any simpler for you Ben. Even with all that stuff you mentioned, if the bunker doesn't butt in on something they had no business even getting involved in, Manly wins, hence, robbed.

Combined penalty and 6 agains 12-6.. evidently the Eels were flawless in the ruck.. go figure

“Robbed” implies the win was stolen from them, which is complete nonsense. The ref wasn’t the one who missed the tackles, or dropped the balls, or who let Tuilagi stroll the defensive line from 5 metres out for an easy try. I’ve been following league for nearly 2 decades and I have never once seen a game where the losing team can justifiably say they were robbed by the referee.

DCE also knocked on early in the lead up to a try so what goes around comes around. There's no excuses after a 14 zip lead

I can’t believe that the professional foul on Brooks by Brown isn’t more of a controversy

28-24-.. isn’t as bad as 0-3. We’ll be back next week after watching the bunnies mauled by the Dogs

Garrick gave away some really uncharacteristic penalties today. It's only the second or third time I've seen him carry on like that. Also definitely not the team we will run with most of the year so can't be too cranky but gee it irks me that we allow Parra to bring their A+ offload game every time we've played them the last few years. DCE also took a big back seat today the first half. Wonder if that was in the game plan

Hey, have you met Owen?

Funny how you are extolling the virtues of refereeing, but aren’t in agreement with why that legitimate try was disallowed? No forward pass was called it was evidently because one of your lazy penalty milking forwards decided to milk yet another one for “obstruction” because you know he was going to catch Turbo ????

Think you'll find Tim isn't a Manly fan Ben. Maybe reflect on the fact that neutrals are agreeing that Manly were robbed this afternoon.

Defenders gotta stop lurking in the line. It’s no accident.

Garrick always struck me more as a winger than anything else.

I could easily do better. Don't reward a bloke for being lazy on defence and let the wrong team win a game of footy, it's pretty simple.

It was the very definition of a professional foul

On the bright side, both teams looked better than Souths or the Titans. :silly:

Disappointing loss after a promising start. We’re still missing a middle (Sipley & Lodge to come back). And we are desperately missing Saab. Paulo & Vaega (and Talau) aren’t great. I’d be tempted to get Garrick back on the wing. Good win Parra, didn’t drop their heads after falling behind.

Oh no did someone upset your pro noun ?

Always the ref’s fault, right? Go and do a course if you think you can do better. The better side won. Manly put the cue in the rack after 20 minutes and it came back to bite them. Fair play to Turbo, he gave it a fair crack to inspire a comeback with a forward pass…

I'm catching up... that Waddell Try was the first time he looked like he belonged in the NRL.
