The table-topping Penrith Panthers renew their cat-fight against the Wests Tigers. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:35pm (AEST).

Penrith will be looking to extend their winning streak to 11 matches, already a club record. The Tigers will be right up for this one, as they were when pushing the Panthers all the way in a 19-12 loss earlier in the year.

The mountain men have lost their two Fijians for this one, with influential rake Api Koroisau and impact back-rower Viliame Kikau injured and suspended respectively. The Panthers have enough depth to suggest they can cover these losses though, with back-up hooker Mitch Kenny doing well in his limited opportunities to impress so far this year.

The Panthers are closing in on the minor premiership, with a three-point gap now opened up on Melbourne. Complacency is unlikely to be a factor this week, given the chance to kick further clear of the chasing pack against the coach’s former team.

Since Ivan Cleary’s acrimonious split with the Tigers, there has been a fair bit of bad blood between these two teams. Tigers fans won’t have forgotten the image of coach Cleary blowing them kisses after the seven-point loss in Round 8.

Wests come into this following a lackluster 38-16 loss to the Roosters, a performance Andrew Johns labelled as pathetic. Johns commented on Nine’s WWOS that it looked like the Tigers were playing with “no soul”.

Michael Maguire’s men will need a much better performance here if they are to trouble the high-flying Panthers.

Also add, did anyone else notice the Penrith team getting away with flopping in late all game yet not 1 penalty for it. No off sides, just the perfect disciplined team all over the park.

Good game ruined by some ordinary Ref decisions.

If the tigers are a top 8 team, it would need to be 8th spot. The outside back lack the hard running or evasion to start sets on the front foot. I don't know if they had lots of one out running, but they didn't seem to stretch them out, or knock them back and the panthers seemed able to get 4 in the tackle a lot. A full strength roosters or storm are the best hope of beating the panthers conventionally. There are 1 or 2 teams that might be physical enough to pose some questions.

Sick of commentators singing the praises of Benji. For 10 years now it's been 2 bits of magic for 8 bits of dross (except for his time with St George when there was no magic). Costs his side big time nearly every game and I'm not sure why coaches persist with him. On a positive and entirely unrelated note - don't you just love the Warriors (until they beat your team)? There needs to be some sort of award manufactured for them come the Dally M's.

I think it's good that it's based on probability and not certainty. If the requirement was that a try would have definitely been scored without any shadow of a doubt then you'd always have people saying "the attacker might have fumbled the ball" or "the ball might have taken a funny bounce" - there are so many ways to split hairs in a game of rugby league that the refs have to be able to say "Subjectively we think on all available evidence that a try was likely to be scored."

Guess it's hard to get 6 again calls if you continually drop the ball on the first or second tackle .

Absolutely had enough of commentators who don't do their job. Instead, using their position to sing the praises of their pet team. Fox, Ch9, makes no difference; wish there was an unbiased alternative in Melbourne.

Doueihi, just missing an A for all the vowels ! Can we get him to change his name to Doueiha or Adoueihi?

One way traffic after half an hour. Penrith are slick this year. Even though it was a flogging in the second half, still an enjoyable game I thought.

True but it’s not a good sign for a team when week in, week out your best player is a winger...

I agree ,also the standard appears to be relaxed - probably has replaced certainty.
