Two teams just outside the top eight go head to head as the St George Illawarra Dragons open NRL Round 12 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).

The Dragons had their mini-revival cut short in controversial circumstances last week, losing a four-point heartbreaker to Cronulla that saw an obviously incorrect Sharks try awarded by the bunker. After their catastrophic start to the season, St George Illawarra have been in decent nick and find themselves just two wins outside the top eight.

South Sydney are another side on the outside looking in, with last week’s tight loss to Canberra their second in a row – moving them down to tenth on the ladder. With talent all over the roster, however, and an excellent points differential, they’ll back themselves in to get back before the home-and-away season is done.

The Dragons have an awful recent record against the Bunnies, losing the last four meetings and 13 of the previous 16. That said, they’ve only played at Kogarah three times during that stretch, with St George’s most recent win against Souths being at this venue.

3rd week in a row this has happened. You'd think they were ready for it this time.

I don't know. He's still out there, reading stuff and beating me in tipping. Just doesn't interact much. I think the constant barrage from the anti-souths deadwoods wore him down.

Saints were unlucky. Two intercept tries got Soufths home.

Maybe he’s a better option than Hunt ?

This game in a lot of ways summed up the 2020 season for the Dragons. Looked great at times but unable to put a complete game together. They have some really exciting players but are very much a work in progress. Which might be ok accept Paul McGregor has been in charge for 6 years. How many more chances can he have?

Well, given that you were quick to question Latrelle early on, you might pass comment on his contribution to the win.

Well that’s it for the Dragons in 2020 with the Roosters & Parra coming up the mountain is just too high. Felt bad for Tristan Sailor hes been wanting all year & going on so late with the game already gone but still he showed something. Maybe he’s a better option than Clune from here on?

The Dragons only played for 20 min after the Bunnies ripped them apart, the score should have been really been 38-18 as 1 Fizzies try was a knock on and AJ's was a try lol anyway both sides need allot of improvement and they are not in the same class as the top 4 sides, bad luck mate, I thought the Dragons would do a Storm v Broncs on us.

I don’t watch a lot of Dragons games but Frizzell defends like an individual. Really he races up, races in, lags behind it’s hard to work with. The attack is also to flat on that edge and they have a great young talent in Lomax. Walker was great at reading and directing the attack. Mitchell creates 10- 20 points a game playing fullback. He’s not like Teddy, Slater or Bowen following through the middle but chiming in down the edge he is devastating. He’s a Paul Hauf fullback.

Cody was outstanding tonight after Reynolds went off injured - dragged the whole team with him - all the Indigenous boys were good - Johnston is a much better player than some people give him credit for - he would be a great pick up for someone as it sounds as though he's being squeezed out of Souths. The Dragons were very good in that first 20 but couldn't find a way back into the game once the Bunnies got the ascendancy.

Good game by the Bunnies. Great comeback after being down by 16.

Good win to the Bunnies, Walker has to be at half, Reno should have looked at Cody and what he did as his performance tonight has been outstanding, LM was also better than he has been, all in all the Dragons played well for the first 20 then Walker came in and ripped them apart. Bad luck Scott and all the Dragons supporters but the Bunnies were much better.
