The St George Illawarra Dragons and South Sydney Rabbitohs will try and shore up their places in the top eight and top four respectively as Sunday footy concludes. Tune into the action here on The Roar with live scores from 6:25pm (AEST).

A win here would see Souths extend the gap between themselves and the fourth-placed Eels to six points, thanks to the latter’s Thursday night loss; while also keeping pressure on the Storm and Panthers in the top two. The loser of that clash tonight would find themselves level with the Bunnies on points should they salute here as well.

The Dragons could easily find themselves forced out of the eight by the Raiders if they go down here, as they are expected to. Anthony Griffin has been forced to make mass changes as suspensions for the players involved in the infamous BBQ party drop out, with Jack de Belin, Jack Bird, Josh McGuire and Blake Lawrie all out.

For the Rabbitohs, Jai Arrow gets his chance in the starting 13 with Cameron Murray suspended for a crusher tackle.

Another game ruined early by fatigue from "six-again!" It only takes a few in succession to give momentum to one side and gas the other. I note the Dragons were awarded penalties instead of "six-again!" multiple times, letting Souths catch their breath.

I think Souths will be reasonably satisfied with that given they are missing 6 or 7. Two of the Dragons tries off kicks and the other an offload against an inexperienced right side. Granted Dragons well under strength. Storm are so far ahead of the rest, it’s Panthers and Souths most likely battling for a GF spot.

Was actually saying that to my friend (yes hard to believe a Souths supporter with real friends) several weeks ago but then they got beaten by a couple of sides they should have won against. Newcastle and the Raiders. If manly play to their potential yeah I agree they could give it a shake but I wouldn’t put money on it.

IF souths can play for 80 minutes they can beat anyone. Huge if as they haven’t been able to do it all year, or in the last 3 years for that matter. Might need the coach whisperer…

Never thought I’d live long enough to see us put 50 on Saints and still be disappointed.

Could this be a season where the highest F/A teams ever get beaten by a team beaten by 50pts during the season?

Looks like the 2014 version of George. Thought George was destined for greatness at that point, but never really improved.
