The Wests Tigers host the Cronulla Sharks in Round 3 action at Leichhardt Oval. Join The Roar for live scores from 7.35pm AEDT.
Tigers veteran Aiden Sezer is elevated to start by coach Benji Marshall after he hooked Jayden Sullivan last week. Justin Olam gets a club debut after recovering from injury, he replaces Starford To’a, who has hurt his ankle.
Sharks prop Braden Hamlin-Uele (knee) is still out but Royce Hunt (illness) has recovered from an illness and will play with Tuka Hau Tapuha dropping to the reserves. Briton Nikora is suspended, so Jack Williams starts and Billy Burns gets a club debut off the bench.
The Sharks are humming along while the Tigers were not too crash hot last week in Canberra. Sharks by 16

Tigers do love to spoil tips :silly:
Good Grief

Remember the stated objective of reducing stoppages to increase fatigue and more open play. I didn’t think they meant increased fatigue for spectators.

Nicho had to have played sick.. had to have. Tanah Boyd had a better game than him today.

Well done Benji. Don't remember the last time Tigers won their first game before round five. Will do the team a lot of good to get the first win quite early and then build on it

[Macarthur/Balmain/Ashfield/Concord/Birchgrove/Lidcombe] vs Parra on Easter Monday. Could be interesting...

Tigers better in every single position.

Leichardt Oval - what a great ground. Tigers should play ALL their home games at LO.

Newtown level from the Sharks 6.

Even though he's joining next year, I think it was huge by Benji to get Luai done and dusted before pre season games started. And the players definitely respect him/look up to him and believe in his vision. Having a seasoned veteran at halfback also helps.

Apparently, noted investigative journalist James Hooper has broken an 'extraordinary story' about Royce Hunt injuring his calf in the warm-up. What a scoop!

Irrespective of the result now, those sledging Benji need to zip it. This is a courageous showing by the Tigers, with Api having a blinder! A coach in his first year with arguably a weaker roster than the Gold Coast and Dragons, who have 2 premiership winning caches with a heap of experience

Good on Api telling Seyfarth to cool it. Last thing Wests need is to give away a penalty due to not keeping their cool
