Yeah, I agree that Bennett should be upset with tactics he's famous for using. Bunnies did it first, Dogs did it worse, then the Bunnies did it again. Should have just had a warning and a sinbin in the first 20 minutes and it would have shut it down for the game. Simples.
Ok fair enough but the team he is coaching is doing it too.
I agree 100% about “the flow”. Letting players have free rein in the ruck does not lead to flow.
He was saying the whole comp is doing it and it will get worse. He said this supposed to lead to flow but it doesn't. I totally agree with him and that players are breaking the rules more than ever.
I do agree with you on Burgess. Lewis is a good player.
Come off it Bennett.
When the Dogs had ball on Souths line early in the game, Souths gave away three or four deliberate, cynical, slow the game down penalties.
The Dogs did it far more - but Souths had far more attacking ball.
But it’s rich pointing the finger when your team is doing the exact same thing when they’re under the pump.
I don’t like this style of play but the Dogs cop it when we play the best teams in the comp so I’m happy to see we’re responding in kind. If the NRL and refs won’t do anything about the best teams doing this they can’t arc up when the bottom teams follow suit. Apparently this is what’s called letting the game “flow”
The Souths players - particularly Sam Burgess - got carried too far away with the whole thing. He was waving his arms around like he was drowning every time he got tackled. That’s something a bit pathetic watching a big man continually get smashed by a halfback and keep getting up appealing to the refs.

"three or four deliberate, cynical, slow the game down penalties" Compared to 12 back to back yet no warning. You do the math TB.

And he said it when they’ve won the game, so he couldn’t be accused of sour grapes.
