Wow. You nearly had ME reduced to tears. Your satirical post is so accurate and beautiful. You had me there. You saw through the moaning and excuses. Really. It’s embarrassing to support the Broncos
"The Broncos need to man up."
That is quite unfair, really. It is awfully confronting for these fragile young fellas, trapped as they are as victims of a glaring systemic prejudice in the NRL, from club directors through the coaches and on to members and fans, in favour of the privileged - the winners.
These players spend each season under threat from the unrealistic expectation of winning - a cultural, historic, organic, structural, destructive bias in the sport against losing. Just look at what happens at the end of the season when only the privileged appear on the TV shows and have their photos in the newspapers. Where is the safe place for the un-winners? They don't even get a participation medal if their team finishes at the un-top end of the table.
Then this year they face the additional burden of the corona virus which has them playing two thirds of a normal season yet the League wants them to forego 20% of their income. It is outrageous - that is the equivalent of a construction labourer's 2020 annual salary deducted from their pay, leaving them just $250,000 with which to struggle through for the year!
That’s about $5,000 per week … and they are reduced to tears.
After last weeks loss the players were criticised for the after game antics of laughter and fraternising with the opposition.
Clearly they were given an education during the week as on Saturday the tears were flowing for the cameras.
Hollywood has come to the NRL. The Broncos need to man up.
Have a laugh after losing the game last week = players don't care
Have a cry after losing the game this week = you blokes need to harden up
The Broncos just can't do anything right at the moment.

Rather ironic. In Brisbane the Roosters are regularly referred to as the Sooky Chooks!

Stormy, agree 100% . It shows they care. They'll have a good period. Just hope it's soon.

Is there something wrong with a man crying? At the very least, shows that he cares.
