“I just try to bring a humorous spin to things that are too serious when there is little anyone can do about these heros who wouldn’t say boo to a player’s face.” Confusing response. GI’s response is “too serious,” so you injected “some humour.” Yet, at the same time, you criticise “these heros [sic] who wouldn’t say boo to a player’s face.” Would you say, “Fair dinkum Greg. Toughen up son,” to GI’s face? I’d love to see that little exchange. “I don’t mean to make light of it” - but you did. “...it is a brutal arena to expose yourself to you [sic] are struggling with issues off field” - indeed it is, when some nobody on an NRL site reminds us EVERY time he/she posts of a young player’s questionable “off-field” choices, while in the meantime this nobody insists, “...but I never attack anyone personally.” Except Napa. Every single day. Multiple times. Every single post...with that puerile, self-declared, very carefully chosen username. “I realise you got it but some here may not have hence the chalkboard lesson” - pretty sure we ALL got it from the get go but, as usual, your verbosity got the better of you & you felt the need to explain. Cheers.

Seeking sympathy to distract attention from his misdemeanours. When he was caught speeding etc. he said he "would take ownership of what he did". What does that mean? He couldn't deny it. Fortunately Mal is in his corner. If sportsmen want to be seen as role models for kids, they have to ensure their behaviour is exemplary. Excuses are just BS.

I'm sure you would not take anything "Reg Reagan" said as anything more than a stitch up. Don't let the persona throw you. I understand your concerns mate and I don't mean to dump on Greg for real, I have been through this myself and I know others who have as well so I don't mean to make light of it in that sense. Don't confuse the humour and banter with a genuine disregard for people who are truly struggling. That said it is a brutal arena to expose yourself to you are struggling with issues off field. I just try to bring a humorous spin to things that are too serious when there is little anyone can do about these heros who wouldn't say boo to a player's face. To be fair, I take plenty of pot shots of my own at players online where I believe it is warranted but I never attack anyone personally and try to use humour to make a point. Regarding the name, I am the one that gave Wayne Bennett the nickname of "Papa Smurf" across numerous sports forum websites. He has been a pet hate of mine in the game over the years so the irony that he is now my club's coach is particularly awkward and funny for many others. It didn't feel right using the name outright that I reserved for "old Clint" but Dylan "Big Papi" Napa provided the final inspiration for the variation I opted for. I realise you got it but some here may not have hence the chalkboard lesson. Cheers.

Mate I like your name, I always chuckle to myself when I see it but don't be a goose. Being called names wasn't the cause of his original hospitalization for depression but it very well could be the cause of his next one. And now that he's had a major depressive episode and been hospitalised for it, well let me put it like this, he'll never be the same GI again. Telling him to toughen up is like telling someone with a broken leg to walk it off. Food for thought.

I wouldn't question or criticise Inglis size. But if he is worried about his weight, I have heard drinking less alcohol can help the waist line line...

I saw this bloke recently, in person. Jeez Louise. Talk about a Greek god. Six foot tall, fit as a fiddle. I am five foot, nine stone, can’t go out in the sun for more the ten minutes and I burn, freckles. I would love to look like him. Lol

Fair dinkum Greg. Toughen up son. Paul Vautin played his whole career being referred to as "Fatty" by his own teammates! It didn't drive him to depression. No doubt George Rose copped plenty during his career as well just because people couldn't appreciate what an athlete he was! Even Arthur Beetson carried a bit of extra luggage on board for comfort in the collision. Next time someone screams out; "You're fat!" During a game scream back; "Yeah and my bank account is even fatter! What does yours look like?" That should shut them up pretty fast.

I don't think GI's been overweight since the start of 2009 season when he put on a couple of kilos in the off season. Didn't stop him from running over Jamie Soward for the first try of the season though!

I really fear for him when he retires from the game. In all seriousness he shows all the signs of someone that will not be able to adjust to a "normal" life.

why would he care, he is getting paid over a million dollars to play footy, stick and stones. If i was getting paid his kind of cash i would give two $hits what people thought, in fact im broke and i dont care now.
