Bit of a beat up. It's like the Gould/Gallen so called heated discussion. All they had was different opinions.

Cheer up Rocky. Gallen is a legend himself. You cannot compare the two.

SLATER HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST ON AND OFF THE FIELD, UNLIKE GALLEN WHO CAN ONLY WISH HE COULD BE AT THE SAME LEVEL OF BILLY ABILITY AS ONE OF QUEENSLAND GREATEST PLAYER EVER, WHERE PAUL HAS REPRESENTED NSW LOSING SIDE MORE TIMES THAN HIS CREDENTIALS AS AN EXPERT ON PERFORMANCE STATUS TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY.

Yeah it is officially the slowest in-season day on the Roar in it's history when this is the only thing that goes up and it doesn't even attract a dozen comments. And quite frankly it is completely made up. Billy's face doesn't changed. He isn't bothered and there was nothing Gallen said that was offensive anyway. No footy chat at all on a sports forum in the middle of June. But sure, Origin is great for the NRL..

Fake news. There's nothing wrong with what Gallen said.

Gallen's comments were fair enough and Billy seemed unfazed by them which is good. Ponga is an exceptional talent and RL is the better for him playing. It's not often an all time great retires and another potential one in the same position immediately bursts onto the scene. Billy is the next best I've seen to Graeme Langlands and it was nearly 30 years between them.

Lots of tries this year are coming from well timed passes against compressed defences and none better than Michael Morgans on the weekend. I don't believe players can fully develop an ability to perfectly time a pass on a regular basis unless they're born with that trait. Some get close but the Morgan pass won't be thrown by most 1st graders. If the trait can be learned we'd have heaps of players throwing passes like Cliffy Lyons but it's not happening.

I thought that was fine. Gallen was spot on in his remarks and Billy didn't take it badly at all. Ponga is a talent, two cut out passes on both sides of the field to hit his wing for tries in the biggest stage of all at the age of 21 is amazing. He is the key to Qld winning but with the rain on the weekend I don't think those cutout passes will be too easy.

Well he’s not exactly wrong. I’ve heard touchies used to get danger money when billy was on the field ;)

Go Gallen! Scoring knockouts on the field, in the ring and now in the studio as well. Billy didn't look too impressed by the comparison with Ponga but there certainly are similarities. Btw, Gallen also paid Slater complimented after compliment before delivering the final backhanded compliment that floored Slater like a right hook by Andy Ruiz right on Anthony Joshua's chin. I noticed Billy wasn't too cut up about Gallen referring to him as the best FB to have ever played the game and one of the most talented players at that age (21 years) and also the hardest trainer with the best work ethic in the Australian squad at the time. Swings and roundabouts Billy. Take the good with the bad and realise that you already have the runs on the board and Ponga is playing catch up and will probably end up playing Rugby Union for the All Blacks anyway.
