I didn’t say they did, they shouldn’t be able to wrestle either but they do. In most instances without sanction. Penalise for slapping by all means but binning players for it when worse offences don’t attract the same sanction is worthless
Gerard Sutton was the head ref who refereed a Broncos vs Titans semi-final a couple of years ago and was heard discussing the score with the pocket ref (Gavin Badger I think).
Usually CH9 cut to a commercial while the conversion following a try is being lined up. This time they didn't. Sutton can be heard saying something like; "You understand the score is 18 - 10?"
WHEN is it EVER appropriate for the match officials to be discussing the score of a game and of what possible relevance is the scoreline to them? Importantly it was the Titans that were ahead at that point and the "News Corp" Broncos ended up winning after a flood of controversial decisions that included two disallowed tries to the Titans.
So, you have to ask yourself is there a team out of the two Grand Finalists that CH9 favours in any way? Tough decision isn't it?
These are the sorts I'd decisions that are taking the thrill of the game. All players are emotionally charged up . A penalty would be sufficient. The thing that is ruining the game is the play the ball where multiple players go in and take forever to peel off which is turning the game into a defence fest. You only have to look at how many tries scored last night and tonite and how they were scored.

Why do players need to be able to slap?

A penalty would’ve been more than sufficient. This binning for slaps has to go

Disgraceful refereeing - a direct result of some of the disastrous decisions from recent weeks.
