The Hurricanes host the Blues in Wellington to kick off Round 6 of Super Rugby Aotearoa. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:05pm (AEST).
When these two sides met in Round 1 it kicked off a three-game winning streak for the Blues which marked them down as genuine title contenders in this abridged competition. Five weeks later and that streak is now over, courtesy of a thrilling defeat at the hands of the Crusaders.
Wellington might have fallen short in the early-season encounter between these two, but that match was away from home – and they were without fullback Jordie Barrett and Ardie Savea was limited to a bench role.
Both star players are in the XV today, not only bolstering the Hurricanes to the point they’re slight favourites with the bookies, but also giving rugby fans a treat of a match-up between the two no.15s with Barrett going head-to-head with his brother and former World Rugby Player of the Year, Beauden.
Dane Coles also returns for the Canes after missing last week’s win over the Highlanders, while the Blues will be hoping last week’s top-of-the-table clash didn’t take too much out of them – a loss today could end their title chances.
Kick off: 5:05pm (AEST)
Venue: Sky Stadium
TV: Fox Sports
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel
Betting: Hurricanes $1.83, Blues $2.01

Just caught up with that post Thugby... Rolling mauls should be illegal unless the ball carrier is in the front line ... we take the points as the ref awards them. I think it is legalized obstruction/shepherding which is penalised in other phases of play.

I nearly dropped my beer when Laumape ran around BB and kept going. Nearly.

I remember BB saying that Laumape is one person he wouldn’t or doesn’t like to tackle.......he really meant it. At least he did get 5 back.

How good was that game. But more importantly how good are some of the comments on this thread. Rob C - Youre missing cheerleaders RT. Or a few hot nurses Highlander - B Barrett tackling like a man with a huge Japanese contract next season Thugby Fan - It’s a draw at half time. Should be 10 minutes “Super Dooper Time” to practice drop kicks. Rob C - Are you prepared to kiss Digs sister? But the Laumape esk comment of the night had to go to TLN. The Late News - BB is slacker than a thousand Transvaalis then in defense? #ReplaceKearnsieWithThisBunch

Ref had poor game. Every bad call (or failure to call) up til then favoured blues. So some justice in the end. But I agree with you that you couldn't actually see ball grounded (although obvious that it must have been).

Would’ve been great to see Dan Carter play tonight. Hopefully next week. But that was a tough game. Hurricanes making things harder now. This is a good competition.

A good game to watch, the Blues just weren't up to it tonight but Canes played very well to win the match. Am sad that BBBB-Jordie kicked that goal as would have loved a further 10 minutes. Commiserations to RT and his Blue Fan club. Another day and them Blues will play like champions. :unhappy:

Nice game. In the end, the difference was missing a simple kick

Scrappy game. But Canes worthy winners Not enough endeavour from the Blues Huge from Laumape, Scrafton and Lomax - Canes owned that midfield tonight too Not impressed with TJP and Ardie right now however

Would love to know how the referee could state definitively that the hooker had the ball on the line for that try. Looking at the slow-mo TMO views the whole maul was a dog's breakfast with the Cane's front row falling over in front of the ball carrier. A guess, a hope or has he got Superman eyes?
