Reports are the Rebels have signed him for next year. Worrying if Rugby WA becomes seen as a feeder system for Victorian rugby.

What's "super rugby"

Perhaps he is but I still think a Super Rugby team should take a chance on him, especially with the amount of veterans leaving Australia at his position.

I realise that our talent pool at 10 are very shallow, but do not think Deagon should be at the RWC. It is very unfortunate that GRR is not yet firing on all cylinders and that Deagan was injured for much of the season as he may have had a realistic chance to get in . Here are some examples from Saturday's game that I think Deagon could learn from. Both sides defended very poorly and kicking out of hand rarely produced dividends. If you controlled possession gaps in the defense appeared as defenders continue to miss one-on-one tackles. In such a high scoring game it was key to control possession but Deagan failed to adjust. His kicks handed over possession to Qld Country that ended up more often than not in tries against the Force. The first try to Qld country exposed his weakness in an one-one tackle situation - just like with Foley and Cooper the defensive structure must protect his weakness in such a scenario . His cross kick to the corner for the last try was millimeters perfect and it was great that he backed his skills, however it was a low percentage play as the Force already had an overlap. It would have been better to keep the ball in hand and wait for the gaps in defence to appear. Also he will get exposed at an international level where rush umbrella defenses will force Deagon to take the ball into contact and get across the game line. He lacks the physical presence of a Pollard, the speed of Barrett or the fast feet of a O'Connor/Beale to get over the game line and may be caught wanting more often than not. He is not yet there but has a lot of potential.

Nice afternoon watching the game on the hill. Force made some changes and bought on some of the older more experienced guys and worked back into the game from about 60mins on. Great comeback.

It's always easier to organise attacks than defence. The Force may have played together for a while now, but this was a brand new 12-13 combination and that's where a lot of Qld's breaks seemed to come through. A lot of the time, though, it seemed that a single missed tackle was all it took to let huge breaks through, so the defensive organisation for both sides was pretty poor.

Still reckon he could have been a bolter for the RWC, given he can play 9 or 10, and with the player movement north I'd not be surprised if one of the Super Rugby sides didn't try to tap him up. Mind you, 3 missed kicks was a surprise - I think that's more than he missed all year in the GRR.

Most people there thought Qld had it in the bag, too! The Force's better conditioning and possibly better quality of reserves (especially Chris Alcock) meant that Queensland faded slightly in the last 20 minutes; the game was played at a fantastic pace (albeit with a 1 minute break for the conversion every 4-5 minutes after a try was scored!)

At 33-49 you would have thought Qld country had it in the bag!

Anybody else think Andrew Deegan should be playing Super Rugby in 2020?

100 points. Don't these guys have arms. Disgraceful defence.

I was at the game so no frustration with the streaming. With the Force centres playing RWC and Deacon/McGregor’s lack of physical presence there were huge gaps in the midfield. A couple of really good tries were scored but most was due to defensive blunders. It was good to see Jooste having his best game for the Force, but there is still a lot of work.

Rugger you have the insight, qualities and wisdom to become the Chairman of Rugby Australia. Especially that dangerous cocktail of ignorance and arrogance....

Well it doesn’t sound like you have any understanding of the Western Australian ruby union scene. If you have some evidence to support your claim I would genuinely like to hear it.

Maybe it was with all of the dropped frames in the online streaming? :unhappy:

Gee you can see why the Farce was literally thrown out of the Australian Super rugby conference. A franchise as soulless as any of the flops from the Gold Coast

50-49!!! Must be some sort of record - unless NRC is trialling some new exotic no tackle rule? Cheers KP :silly:
