What a defender is supposed to do is it basically jump, already fully upright, into contact.
Not go from low to high. Not lead with the shoulder. Accept that you got beaten in the positioning and go for a tackle that isn't trying to be dominant.
He has a very clean record and was clearly contrite about the damage caused. He will also plead guilty. Based on other punishments that should get him down to 3 weeks.

Yeah maybe. Paul Cully described it as a ‘mistimed hit’ and ‘not thuggery’, which I think is true. 3 weeks doesn’t seem unreasonable though.
