The green cedar of Lebanon ought to be included – they offered us one of Australia’s captains, president, architect for the World Cup idea and lifelong honourable servant of the game; and Italy’s red, green and white stripes to recognise how migrants from war torn Europe had their sons embrace the game … and to applaud the brilliance of David Campese.
Tonga, Samoa, the gold stars of Niue, Fiji … the Pacific Islands are the backbone of the Bathurst Bicycle Repair Shop Harmless Wallabies this century, they’ve got to be a walk up start for a place on the jersey’s left and right sleeves.
It would be nice if the bright lot at the ARU could instead put on their serious face for when they sit down to consider winningness and not just reserve it for selective conspicuous “inclusivity”.
I anxiously await the announcement of Bono Pocock as ARU president – in a modern reimagining organic co-president metric thingy context.
Just copy the gold from the SA T20 Jersey. That is the perfect gold.
Looks great on TV.

Pete, I have no issue with an indigenous design to be incorporated in the jersey but the all over design does nothing for me. Aboriginals are a part of Australia but not all of Australia.
I suggest you speak to the Kiwi's and propose that they choose a Maori design over the All Black jersey?
if a good “gold” is an issue, can we play in a green jersey (much like the Kangaroos) and have the “gold” as the alternate for when they play the Safa’s or Irish?
the Jillaroo’s “gold” jersey isn’t too bad a color, they just gotta stop all of the stupid additions like the 2015 jersey with the green thing on the shoulder.
Does the ARU have any say on the final product cuz it certainly looks like they don’t
if "Mango Gold" is taken - is that a bit like Rickie's dilema - what colour jacket do you want darl - the cream, the bone, the white, the off white, the ivory, or the beige?
maybe we need queer eye for the rugby guy to design the playing strip?
think the Kooga Wallabies jersey colour was pretty good - having said thathave seen 2 different colours on the internet, a pale version and a darker yellow - i like the darker yellow. As long as we never see a jersey with a bra again! (like that CCC model)
The national sporting colours of Australia were clearly defined in 1984. The gold colour represents the golden wattle (Acacia pycnantha), which is Australia's national flower. Unfortunately, it isn't "gold" it is yellow, and therein lies the problem, at least for me. It is garish (and the 7s jersies are just awful).
(Personally I preferred it when we played in green, but we dropped it so Saffers could have it. In 1961 First Gold Jersey worn and signed by Ken Catchpole)
Nevertheless, I have always like the gold from the '91 jersey. I used to call it "Mango Gold."
RA needs to settle on a colour. I suspect that it also needs to patent or trademark that colour, so that they, and only they can have control of it.
If "Mango Gold" is already 'taken' , then they just need to tweak it a little but to be so close they can patent / trademark it a "Wallaby Gold" and keep it for good.
And yes, I'd also love to see Wallaby Gold and incorporate the Indigenous jersey motifs in green
For those technically minded the national sporting colours are as follows
Green: Pantone: 348 C / RGB: 0–132–61 / hex: #00843D
Gold: Pantone: 116 C / RGB: 255–205–0 / hex: #FFCD00

The Wallabies actually had THE perfect gold jersey. Since the mid 90's they've been going fluoro shades that are clearly yellow.

Very interesting take on the only area of inclusivity that we currently embrace.

It's fine when it's a one-off. For a permanent jersey fair call, but there should be some indigenous artwork on it.

I know it won't fly with the authorities, but my ultimate preference would be for them to always play in an Indigenous design based on the 1991 gold.
