Adelaide United will be hoping for something better than yet another draw when they host Melbourne Victory at Coopers Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:45pm (AEDT).

After three straight draws the Reds will be frustrated that they have not been able to turn at least one of those results into a victory. Yet their football has been positive and promising at times and they remain one of just three undefeated teams in the 2021-22 season.

Spaniard Isaías Sanchez has slotted straight back into the Adelaide set-up under Carl Veart, and Kusini Yengi has clearly messaged the competition that he is a striker to watch. With a still-developing back four, logic suggests Adelaide will be a far better team nearer the back end of the season.

Melbourne Victory travel to Adelaide after a disappointing loss to the Glory last weekend, having been reduced to ten men for nearly half of the contest. The subsequent 3-0 loss hurt, yet after two splendid wins to start the season some breathing room had been established. Today’s match is a chance to move back to the top of the ladder, and manager Tony Popovic will have placed a premium price on the three points. This is yet another Match Week 3 encounter where the winners will sit comfortably in the six and the losers will likely lament missed opportunities.

I think you have too much salt in your eyes, Yengi was socially distanced when he started heading for the ground. As for the goals, the offside one was a fart's breath, the first was fine, the second was fine. From the stands the ref seemed to have a few consistency issues but IMHO got the main calls right.

You don't stand 4 security guards in front of one stand if you're not expecting something from that particular section of the crowd.

Yengi needs to grow up, pretty fast. I'm sure he's getting whispers in his ears about how good he is and he's believing it. Yes, he has strength, a turn of speed and loves tricks, but he also loves to tug on opposition shirts and 'play' the victim when going down. Needs to smarten up or will be just another kid with potential. We've seen plenty of those.

I just watched the match back to see if there was anything I missed whilst at ground level I have questions as well about the first goal now, when Rojas plays it back over his head that whole ball looks out of play - need to see some more angles of that. Yengi I thought initially got his ankles clipped, but it looks like it was the players thigh. Definitely not simulation, there was contact - although too soft for a penalty

Maybe this is a deja vu from last season where Adelaide come good after 5 to 6 games in, either way AUFC really need to put away them easy chances and not be lazy in defence.

Victory had the better chances, no complaints with the result. I predicted this scoreline funny enough lol. If you make schooboy errors in defence you deserve to be punished. I do have issues with the standard (the double standard of opposition players doing the same sort of foul and escaping punishment) of refeering in matches involving adelaide. That thigh high tackle on isiais by folami was a Red card, I was in direct line of that tackle - travesty that he didn't get sent off and walked away free Also clear pen for mine when halloran was held in the box, had a good view of that from the sidelines. Hype? Lol I said this side if everyone stays fit will finish 6 or 7th tops and they wouldn't be close to challenging for the title

They need a good number 10 with skill and experience.

I wanna hear from Adelaide Andy! There was so much hype after the FFA Cup wins and now its A-League time and AUFC have fallen on there ass. What’s the excuse this time? Low budget? Injured players? New squad>? Or a coach that’s out of his depth? And this is not a personal attack as Pauline Hanson once said “please explain”

They are effectively halving their possible audience. I have a 6 game Bulls membership, but watched this game. I thought they would do more crosses to the other game so you would get a bit of a feel for it. At least the FFA Cuo on Fox had the bells and an immediate cross plus the half time crosses.

Coopers is the ideal (in terms of size) football stadium. The crowd looked great in that stadium and that also made for good viewing along with the passionate support.

How many Victory players just went down? It’s spreading. All in unison. Adelaide deserved a draw at least.

As a neutral I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Fooball's a funny game - The Reds don't deserve to be near bottom of the table.

Mauk with a legitimate fall - not a dive - an actual injury.

A nervous few minutes for the Victory, down to 10 men. Two weeks in a row the Victory have had a man sent off.
