Melbourne Victory travel to New Zealand to face the A-League’s in-form side the Wellington Phoenix knowing that anything less than a win would seriously hamper their hopes of making the finals this campaign. Join us for all the live scores and updates to on The Roar this Sunday from 4:20pm (AEDT).
Victory’s humiliating 4-1 loss to rivals Sydney FC last weekend compounded the horrible season they’ve been experiencing so far. The defeat left them with only one win in their last eight games and sees them closer to the root of the table than the top six berths.
For a club of their size – and constant finalist contenders – it’s simply not good enough. Awaiting them is a supremely confident outfit in Phoenix, meaning life doesn’t look to be getting any better quickly. The Kiwis swept aside Central Coast Mariners last weekend made it three wins on the bounce and put them within just three points of a top-two spot – unthinkable in the early portions of the season when they struggled massively.
Ufuk Talay has his men playing unrestrained and fluent football and they’ll be looking to prove that further against Victory in front of their home crowd.
Join us for what could be Phoenix’s last game in their own country due to the coronavirus emergency for a while with The Roar’s live coverage and updates from 4:20pm (AEDT).
Kick-off: 4:20pm (AEDT)

Tight offside call that one based on the camera angles we had. Wasn’t sure that was enough to be a clear and obvious error, but I’ll take it.
