Wellington Phoenix will be seeking to continue their solid recent form when the Western Sydney Wanderers visit WIN Stadium in Wollongong in search of their first win of the season. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:45pm AEDT.
Ufuk Talay has his south-coast-based Phoenix sitting pretty inside the top six after a deserved 2-1 win against the Mariners last weekend. Western Sydney went from very bad to a fair bit better in their 2-2 draw with the Jets last Sunday and frankly, it is hard to know exactly what Carl Robinson’s team will dish up this time. Whatever they do produce, it will almost certainly have an air of desperation about it and the confident Phoenix could well provide them with the toughest opponent they have faced to this point in the A-League season.
The Wanderers are far from gelling and yet to show the form many pundits predicted during the pre-season. Terry Antonis, Ramy Najjarine and Dimi Petratos need to build combinations and defensively there is a lot of work still be done on the training pitch. Wellington will be hoping the excellent form of Gary Hooper continues, with two goals from two games, the Englishman has been one of the most dangerous attacking weapons in the competition over the opening weeks and unless the Wanderers are sharper at the back, he could be a decisive factor in this match.

A draw would probably have been a fair result, but VAR was poor with better camera work last year. I think the refs are doing well. I guess present technology can only pick up a clear and obvious foul, which is probably a good thing.

Ball was over the Line but should have been called no goal as Hemed clearly pushed Callan Eilliot

Am I the only one saw an attack fault at the first goal? Hemed pushed 17's back, no?

I’m trying to find something to like about the Wanderer’s play but can’t.

Line-ball, probably the right call this week. After two line-ball goals in the first week of the league, maybe we need goal-line technology. I feel like we used to have it but may be wrong?

3 replays total for that goal on P+. The 9 min highlights packaged I watched at HT on Optus showed 4 replays per goal that was scored. P+ coverage very basic lets see the goals a few more times ay
