After topping the champions last weekend, Western United will be looking for an equally impressive display against the Brisbane Roar when the two teams meet at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:05pm (AEDT).
John Aloisi has made a brilliant start to his tenure as manager of Western United and has his team sitting third on the ladder entering Match Week 4. After a disappointing FFA Cup loss to the Phoenix earlier in the week, United will be looking to rebound briskly against a Roar side that has failed to impress in the early rounds of A-League competition.
With just a point to show for three weeks of effort and a few refereeing decisions having not helped their cause, Brisbane are entering a dangerous phase of the season where a first win is becoming something of a necessity. Scoring goals appears to be a real concern for Warren Moon’s team, and the front line of Nikola Mileusnic, Luke Ivanovic and Juan Lescano is yet to gel. Until that happens, the Roar do look a little light on in terms of potency in front of goal.
A win for Western United potentially places them at the top of the ladder, while another loss for the Roar will have them in dire straits, with their season seemingly over before it ever really began.

Poor team selection fort Brisbane Roar. They miss the steadying influence of Aldred and O'Shea cannot cope with being captain and midfield as his own game has suffered. Akbari should play in midfield, Mileusanic is a waste better off with Lofthouse or Parsons taking his spot. Team tactics and setup hard to figure and the club has no ambition.

And ALL the other previous 16 Football A-League Clubs …. Funny, thoughts like that, means that MVictoryFC should have been RELEGATED …. TWICE!!! Funny thing also is that RELEGATION …. ISN’T the Problem with Football in Australia nor with the BRISBANE ROAR FOOTBALL CLUB!!! Too many centralised Football Clubs in a few area’s might be the Issue …. Just saying??? FORZA BRISBANE ROAR FOOTBALL CLUB!!!

Western United are FIRST on the table! Did I read that correctly? Maybe moving Rudan onto greener pastures was the best thing WU ever did.

Brisbane have scored once in the last four games. That’s 0.25 goals per game. The Roar have decent players. All eyes will now be on the coach.

Said the exact thing to my mate just now. I know a lot of these Bris players can do better than they are showing, but currently no ability to play through traffic. Midfield is cooked turnover after turnover.

Is this game a reflection of poor coaching?
