Super Rugby Round 2 teams: Every line-up named as Beale returns for Waratahs, but Pocock misses out

By The Roar / Editor

Injury has forced the ACT Brumbies to make three changes to their Super Rugby squad for Round 2.

Wallabies duo David Pocock (concussion) and Henry Speight (hip) join Toni Pulu (cheekbone) on the sidelines for the Canberra club as they take on the Chiefs this Saturday.

Previously, the Queensland Reds announced Sefa Naivalu and Bryce Hegarty will make their club debuts when they travel to Dunedin for a clash with the Highlanders.

Naivalu joined the club from the Rebels during the off-season, while Hegarty was swapped to the Reds in a trade with Karmichael Hunt.

Brad Thorn’s side face a tough start to their season, after a bye in Round 1.

Aaron Smith and Shannon Frizell have also been called up to start for the Highlanders.

After coming off the bench in last week’s three-point victory over the Chiefs, Frizell and Smith will rejoin the starting 15 this week. Ash Dixon has been named to once again come off the bench for the Highlanders though, and it’s hard to argue against the tactic, given the ‘Landers finished with two tries in the last 20 minutes.

The Waratahs have also named their 15, with Kurtley Beale set to make his return to action in the number 12, while Karmichael Hunt will play at outside centre, moving into jersey 13 for the ‘Tahs.

Watching Lilo was like watching the Second Son. Seriously he was very good, better than I thought possible. I think the Rebs and Ponies play again in 2 weeks. First game Brumbies forwards and Rebels backline were dominant. Let's see if either team can put it altogether. Should be a beauty.

Except Quade steered the Rebels to a win over the Brumbies last week. Didn't play this week... so there's that. Happy to see Lilo have a cracker of a game.. unfortunately I was flying and didn't see it. Did he drop any ball? Miss any tackles? Any passes go to ground? Any kicks that were slightly imperfect? These are the important stats since these are the only stats people talk about when talking about Cooper. I care not how many kicks he kicked or tries he scored or setup, tackles he made or players he put into gaps. These stats are irrelevant when discussing Quade Cooper, so they should be when comparing someone to him.

Holy Heck - Brumbies on fire. Christian L was my MOM. Masterclass performance and put Quades effort last week, poor in comparison. I'm waiting for the Journos and writers and experts to write him up as the next Wallaby 10 and place Quafey in a realistic place. It just constantly amazes me the depth or lack of rugby knowledge out there.

It’s just baffling. For the first 3 weeks of the comp, there should have been an Australian match at 7.30pm every Friday and generally one at 5.30 and one at 7.30 every Saturday, and byes should have been at a minimum. It just makes no sense. Also, what is the point of the Sunwolves? I would be all for opening up the Japanese market and integrating Japan into Australian rugby, but the reality is that they have about 2 Japanese in their preferred 23, along with more Aussies, Kiwis, South Africans and Georgians. And they play some of their home matches in Singapore for some reason. The Tahs’ match tomorrow is important only because it is one that they have to win, because the Sunwolves are atrocious, not because it’s an important match or will be exciting. Just sadly a letdown to the start of the comp.

Tahs have their worst tackler in the most defensive position 12. Lucky Beale can go to the wing indefense.

Aint gonna happen Sam with that leaden footed backline. It will be exposed by the nimble footed Smith Naholo Tevita Le. The Highlanders tighthead prop is on par with Hamish Stewart for speed over 15 meteres. Ryan and Thorn to be grunting and snarling at full time. Dunedin boys by 20

Foketi is not ready yet? That means he must be in line for a Wallaby call up like Tiny Boned Tommy Robertson, Tolu "cant throw" Latu, Jack " Marshmellow " Dempsey and Ned " The Beast " Hanigan before him.

Actually Folau missed his opposite number one on one from 10 meters out. Akira Ioane. So you are incorrect there. Folau is given free reign to miss his tackles ,it`s not a concern for Cheika RA or Folau lovers. DHP misses heaps of tackles with that week right shoulder of his.

Beale at 12 generally means musical chairs, not sure that him at 15 triggers it

Man it sucks when there's only one Friday game. Maybe if SANZAAR hadn't given an Australian team a BYE for the second week in a row. We could get a Rebels game in at 7:30. but nooooooooooo.

Folau and DHP might not be great defenders but they are not that bad and can stop a good sized winger one on one 10 meters out. Last year Daugunu got steamrolled a few times one on one. I love him and I hope he can do something about it. He is still growing and learning, so I hope we see him back soon.

I was thinking more as an inside or outside center. Yes, wing is out of the question. More likely next year after the exitous if he improves and stays injury free.
