Bulldogs star Josh Addo-Carr could face police charges after he was involved in a wild brawl at the Koori Knockout which forced the match to be abandoned.
Addo-Carr was playing for the Sydney All Blacks against Walgett at Tuggerah on the NSW Central Coast when a series of brawls broke out.
The NSW and Australian representative reacted to a Walgett opponent being aggressive and after copping a punch in an earlier incident, Addo-Carr reportedly punched a rival player in the heated clash.
Footage of the incident appears to show the State of Origin and Australian representative brawling with a rival player.
NSW Police said on Sunday that officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were “working closely” with event organisers and the National Rugby League, which is looking into the incident.
Addo-Carr posted on social media to say “tell who really got knocked out in the brawl, play dirty cop it”.
Canterbury general manager Phil Gould took to X to say the Bulldogs “have spoken personally to Josh Addo-Carr and he is fine. No issues at all. Unfortunate incident, but he’s taken no harm. More as it comes to hand”.
NSW Police issued a statement to say they were investigating the incidents.
“About 1.45pm (Saturday, September 30, 2023), two teams were playing as part of a rugby league carnival at a sporting complex at Tuggerah, when an on-field fight broke out,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Some players and spectators attempted to break up the fight, which then spread off-field, whilst others became involved.
“Police and event security broke up the brawl a short time later and the crowd dispersed, before the game was called off. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
“Police from Tuggerah Lakes Police District are working closely with event organisers and NSW Rugby League.”
Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell, former Dragons halfback Jayden Sullivan, who will join Wests Tigers next season, and ex-Raiders star Jack Wighton, who has signed with South Sydney, are also playing in the three-day tournament which kicked off on Saturday.

What is all this 'king hit' stuff about these days? Now violence is never the answer but a 'king hit' as I understand it was always when someone comes from nowhere and punches somebody in the head when they aren't looking. Its cowardly and dangerous. If you are in an aggressive confrontation with someone - which you should never be - and you flatten them.....that is just a 'belted him'. Everyone that cops a smack in the mouth seems to be embarrassed and say that they were 'king hit'.

Yesterday there were conflicting reports on this incident. Today it's becoming clearer. If Foxx is found to be at fault then he should be dealt with. It could be time for NRL clubs ban their high priced stock from playing in these games.

Just saw the video, not great for Josh Addo-Carr. He clearly king-hits an opposition player and will almost certainly be scrubbed by the Kangaroos.
