BP, I’m calling “demarcation dispute” here, get the delegates! You’re cutting the lunch of Dane Eldridge! Nah, pretty sure there’s room for 2 satirical stars on the ROAR, nice one, cheers.

Four talking points from the NRL grand final

Baz, I think Finucane is actually chiselled from a lump of granite, geez he’s hard.

Four talking points from the NRL grand final

Joe,
definitely piggy backed up the field, stuff let go earlier was suddenly somehow penalty-worthy.

Cameron Smith in hot water for questioning the officials' integrity in massive spray

Paul, not Croft, did you mean someone else? Munster maybe?

The Storm's NRL stranglehold grows stronger, but Panthers are 2021 favourites

All good points. Throw in rain what happens?

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

fp, nah, you’ve got it in the bag, no way we can beat you!

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

Dr D, what you say is right and in the past we have been able to do it for longer than our opponents, including Geelong. Teams have been able to go with us for a certain period of time but then been overrun, both Geelong PFs being cases in point. I think we’ve actually been hurt by the shorter quarters. I suppose it’s true at the heart of all tactics that you either need to persevere longer than your opponent to win out if you believe you are right or have a plan B to switch to if things turn to poo. I agree it will be interesting to see who prevails. I think bad weather suits us but I also think our form has been trending up. On balance, I’m hopeful but not confident!

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

NfW, yeah I don’t get the lack of skill comments either. It’s almost like you can’t be good at more than one thing.

Grand final forecast: Richmond versus Geelong

Dr D, Pressure, pressure and when you think you haven’t applied enough pressure, apply some more. All across the ground, all game, all season. Forward pressure and repeat entries / opportunities may be the biggest factor and this goes to your forward set up also.
Classic lead / mark / goal breaks down if the mark is spoiled because the defence can run the ball back out on the counter and catch you going the other way.
The forwards MUST keep the ball in a contested situation and the defenders under pressure so that if the ball comes back out it does so on your terms, usually a 30m hack to your waiting “ring of steel” to be sent back in again. When we are playing well we are devastating at this part of the plan.

The quick questions: Blame games and compensation claims

Richie, “Sir if you don’t move him we will”

How Dave Rennie’s words came back to haunt him at Eden Park

CS, how has that been received by players, coaches & the sideline refs? Have you noticed a change in playing style to try and reduce the high penalty count? Cheers

How Dave Rennie’s words came back to haunt him at Eden Park

Waxy, surely in this day and age this is a strategic decision taken pre-game by the Coach not tactically during the game by the Captain? I didn’t see or hear a presser after this game, was the question put to Dave Rennie? If this is against Rennie’s plan he wont stay Captain for long!

When will the Wallabies learn?

TS, they say “you’re a long time retired” but Cam Smith may be the only player who’s career was longer than his retirement!

The NRL needs a Panthers grand final win, but Cam Smith will get his fairytale

Baz, “The juniors question is an interesting one. Sometimes I think teams with big junior nurseries get complacent. They think the juniors will just keep flowing through”. I think there is definitely an element of that, Penrith have always, and I really mean always, had a fantastic junior nursery, and not through the doing of Phil Gould. Maybe what has changed is how they’ve been treated once they join the senior club. Maybe appreciated, nurtured and not having outsiders taking their game time and contracts. I think this goes to your complacency point that you can’t treat them like poo just because there will be another one along soon.

MJ, throw LC in as “steak knives”?

Jeremy Cameron wants out of the Giants

Chuck, FA isn’t an “equalisation” measure and it was never the intent to stop FA’s going to good teams. FA is exactly what it says on the box. FA is one measure that keeps the AFL Draft out of the courts as a form of compensation to players that get told where to play by the AFL via the draft.

Jeremy Cameron wants out of the Giants

Jimmy, Dimma went through a fair period of self reflection after 2016 and made some personal changes which completely changed his coaching enormously. Without that 2017 would have been just as bad and he would have gone. I think he deserves great credit for that personal growth regardless of the outcome but it should encourage others to reflect and not be frightened to do things differently. I think you can take something for that vomiting but I know what you mean!

Lambert's last-quarter strikes put Tigers into the decider

WB, Suli is scoring a lot less tries since Cronk hasn’t been putting the ball on his head. Yes, he’s an automatic overlap in defence.

Raiders and Storm to be decided by epic battle of the forwards
