'This guy is unstoppable': Cricket world in uproar as 'Jarvo' returns for India-Australia WC clash, causes chaos

By The Roar / Editor

Infamous pitch invader Daniel ‘Jarvo’ Jarvis has made an unexpected return to cause chaos before India’s opening World Cup match against Australia.

Having made worldwide headlines for a series of pitch invasions during a 2021 series between England and India in England, as well as at several rugby union matches, the serial prankster somehow avoided both tight-knit security at the MA Chindambaram Stadium in Chennai as well as a reported sold-out venue to make his way onto the playing field and engage Virat Kohli and Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul in conversation before being escorted away by security.

As expected, social media went wild at Jarvo’s return, with many baffled how he had once again managed to give security the slip.

The prankster’s claim to fame has been regularly invading pitches whilst dressed in the uniform of the participating teams, always with his customary ‘Jarvo 69’ name and number.

During the India-England Test series in England in 2021, he stormed the field wearing Indian Test match whites; on this occasion, it was in their standard ODI blue attire.

Jarvis was charged with aggravated trespass in October 2022 for an incident during that series where he collided with England’s Jonny Bairstow while running in to mime a bowling action.

What an idiot. First 1-2 times were funny, given the context he portrayed, but it then lost its humour very quickly. Next time he does it, he should go to jail.

He earnt lot of Indian fans due to his recent pitch invasion in India vs England test series. He entered the pitch at Oval and Edgbaston before when India & England were playing. I hope he gets deported. But he didn't do a crime so there is no way to deport him rather deny him the entry to all cricket matches. Or make him enter the matches which no one is gonna watch like Netherlands vs Afghanistan.

Cambridge English dictionary: Fact - something that is known to have happened or to exist, especially something for which proof exists, or about which there is information Now that you understand what a fact is: other than an over-cooked Brisbane pitch that the groundsman apologised for and in any case equally favoured an SA pace attack and ours, please name me the most recent pitch doctored in Australia to suit the home team's needs

Pitch invasions are not okay in any sport. Too often these people are rewarded e.g. Sam Cane tripping an invader, enough press and spectators gave Sam such a hard time the guy ended up getting AB signed jersey's and an apology! I find even more galling that he's doing it for his social media account and now has become famous, with many applauding him. He's a well documented repeat offender who is very calculated. How many laws (of the country) does this guy break to get past security? Put him in an Indian jail for a month - he'll think twice next time.

Hopefully he met one of those Indian police who carries a cane when he was taken out the back.

The Indians, Pakistanis and English have done it for 20 years though so there’s no way to shame them into better behaviour. So do Australians, but lets not let facts interrupt a good conspiracy rant...

If doctoring home pitches is allowed, I’m not happy. It’s against any concept of spirit of cricket or being a good host. The Indians, Pakistanis and English have done it for 20 years though so there’s no way to shame them into better behaviour. Doctoring pitches for World Cups is flat out cheating though and teams should lose the right to host if they do it.
