And they’d blame travel and time zones. What’s the excuse now?

'I'm a big fan': Kiss throws weight behind Club World Cup as Europe and Super Rugby agree to new tournament

They already get a full weekend every year in SRP. I might have missed the reason, but, can anyone tell me why the ‘Super Round’ happens every year in Australia?

Really? It’s the tacklers responsibility to get the height right. Levi has to adjust just like everyone else who gets yellow/red carded. Attackers aren’t dropping their height just because Levi is the tackler – many attackers are doing that now.

Well it worked at the World Cup. Oh wait…

Wallabies to get new skipper, Bledisloe joy and shock Rugby Championship win: XV fearless predictions for 2024

That seems to be a trend with many Australians. The longer a player or coach is out of the Australian set up, the better they become. Just go back and read the names that are suggested in these columns over the years whenever teams selections or coach selections are muted. Going with Eddie highlighted all of that. The failure in England was ignored as though the failure was dismissed as cultural thing – ‘he’ll be better in our environment!” Australia needs to rid themselves of wanting instant gratification and get ready for the long haul to improvement. I believe it will come, with patience and perseverance, and possibly a little pain along the way.

'Who cares?': Eddie has no regrets about Wallabies disaster but takes swipes at RA and media

He might be interested – but I doubt it. When he returned from Ireland he stated he wanted to come home (to NZ) and spend more time with his family and particularly his son who has autism. Based on this, I think he will stick around here. But, you never know.
A person I think would be a good man to have in the coaching set up. is Mick Bryne – maybe not head-coach, but an assistant. He has been an important part of Fiji’s resurgence due to his work with Drua.

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future

As a kiwi, I really disliked RA through the DR sacking period. Every time we played the Wallabies, you could see DR’s influence – they were getting better and should have beaten us. I rated DR, I was hoping he’d be our coach…but we got the other guy. It irked me they way RA lauded EJ (after deliberately ignoring what he did to England as though it was a cultural thing) and the way they not only dumped DR, but ridiculed and made fun of him afterwards. Well, that turned out great for Hamish, Eddie and Australia…oh wait.

Wallabies are where the All Blacks were in 2007 - it's time to look in the mirror or risk more embarrassment

But they let him go too!

I thought Angus went well. No complaints here.

37 phases and OUT! Whitelock the hero as All Blacks win epic RWC QF to break Ireland's hearts again

Pitch invasions are not okay in any sport. Too often these people are rewarded e.g. Sam Cane tripping an invader, enough press and spectators gave Sam such a hard time the guy ended up getting AB signed jersey’s and an apology! I find even more galling that he’s doing it for his social media account and now has become famous, with many applauding him. He’s a well documented repeat offender who is very calculated. How many laws (of the country) does this guy break to get past security? Put him in an Indian jail for a month – he’ll think twice next time.

‘AB’s are simply not used to competing against teams that can play at the same intensity, but with greater physicality” But they can’t though – they keep taking bs breaks.

“Hamish constantly hates on NZR and his digs, unsolicited, are such lies snd [sic] bs yet he gets millions from NZR”.. This .

Will the demise of Australian rugby influence the All Blacks' standards?

Yeah right, we’ll just put our rugby on hold and wait for RA to make the decisions for us. If you guys want to go off on your own, we’re not going to sit back and twiddle our thumbs waiting for RA to decide what our rugby involvement will look like. I trust NZR will come up with something else, possibly even better.

End game? States plotting to roll RA board after Wallabies flop

I’m with you on that one Jacko. I think NZ fans are prepared to support Aus rugby (however we can) to a point- but not keen at all if HM is at the helm.

End game? States plotting to roll RA board after Wallabies flop

Rennie and his assistants had done a lot of the ground work already. With the assistants retained to give some continuity, Hamish thought he’d be able to jettison EJ in as the cherry on the top. But the assistants didn’t stay (which says a lot about what they thought of the situation) and it all just blew up. Now what?

SPIRO ZAVOS: My message to Hamish McLennan and Eddie Jones: 'In the name of God, go'

As a kiwi, it was heartbreaking to watch those Australian fans, who paid good hard-earned money to be at that game, wearing their jerseys proudly, leaving the game early. Who does that at a RWC? If that wasn’t a sign to the RA of people voting with their feet, then they will never get it.

SPIRO ZAVOS: My message to Hamish McLennan and Eddie Jones: 'In the name of God, go'

‘A few years ago we needed Mick Byrne to help with basic skills.’ I couldn’t believe how Mick Byrne was not used by Australia when he returned- especially given all the intellectual rugby knowledge he had gained by being a key part of the best AB set up we’d had for some time with Henry, Hansen and Wayne Smith. Was he tarred with the same brush as all the other ‘kiwi infectors’ alluded to in the comments yesterday? Well, Fiji Drua knew what they were doing and look how well its worked out for their national side.
Australia have had some real gems who have flourished in other environments, yet on the home front they are just discarded. That to me is what has become ‘the Aussie way”.

Eddie Jones should be celebrated not booed: Why the worst thing RA could do is sack the Wallabies coach

I don’t think the rugby world is laughing. I think most rugby followers fall into the latter group you describe – we’re sad, horrified and maybe even angry.

Eddie Jones should be celebrated not booed: Why the worst thing RA could do is sack the Wallabies coach

“RA needs to a rebuild – and needs to be totally reimagined – much like Ireland have done in the last 8-10 years”. I think a lot of Australian fans know this, but the out-of -step RA are constantly looking for the quick fix instead of facing the hard graft. I thought when they hired DR they were finally on track to achieve this – but the RA (and many fans) couldn’t take the losses, even though the indicators were very promising. Even Brian O’Driscoll acknowledged it. Australia can’t do what Ireland did because they don’t have the patience – they are the kid with ADHD who needs instant gratification, they are not prepared to crawl before they walk. Twenty years later and the debates and arguments are still the same. A thorough and brutal review is needed.

I don’t think the issue is forwards in the back line. The concern is fresh forward packs playing fatigued packs.
