Port Adelaide is racking up the frequent-flyer miles, facing the Fremantle Dockers at Optus Stadium on Saturday afternoon just a fortnight are flying to Shanghai. Join The Roar for all of the action, with live scores and a blog of the match from 4:35pm AEST.

After a mid-season rest for both Fremantle and Port Adelaide, the two sides will take to the somewhat controversial deck with just one per cent separating them.

Heading into the break, Fremantle scored an impressive victory over Collingwood at the MCG.

For the second week in-a-row Michael Walters was the hero, putting the Dockers in front with the last score of the day. The Dockers hung in there on a day when the Magpies weren’t at their best and closed out an important victory that keeps them in the hunt for the top-eight.

Port Adelaide also went into the week off with a win, a 70-point smashing of St Kilda in very warm conditions in Shanghai.

Now three wins from three attempts, Port Adelaide has the trip to China down to a fine art.

Fremantle have made three changes ahead of this clash.

Rory Lobb and Alex Pearce will miss through injury, while Adam Cerra has been ruled out due to illness.

Alex Pearce went down in the third term of the win against the Magpies, later requiring season-ending surgery on a fractured left ankle.

The luckless defender was in All-Australian conversations throughout his fantastic first-half of the season.

Also, from the match, scans on Lobb’s foot confirmed a stress fracture and the ruckman will miss an extended period of time, though a time-frame has not been established.

Sean Darcy, Griffin Logue and Stephen Hill have been included in the side; Hill returns for his first AFL game in over 10 months.

Port Adelaide have made one change for the trip west.

Matthew Broadbent will take an indefinite leave of absence from football, to allow the defender to focus on his mental health.

Hamish Hartlett takes his place in the backline, making his long-awaited return to AFL after more than 12 months out of the game.

Hartlett had recurring hamstring issues this year that have delayed his return from a ruptured ACL suffered at training in April 2018.

The last time these two teams met was in round 17, 2018 at Optus Stadium. In a low-scoring match, Fremantle dealt the first in a series of blows, which would eventually send Port sliding down the ladder and missing finals.

A couple of young players will reach their 50-game milestone this round.

Fremantle’s Connor Blakely and a pair of Power midfielders – Karl Amon and Sam Powell-Pepper – will all play their 50th AFL games when they take to the field on Saturday.

Prediction
Round 13 is proving difficult to tip.

Fremantle at home sound like a good bet, though Port played this ground well against the Eagles earlier in the year.

You just don’t know which version of these two teams is going to rock up.

anonboy you cheeky minx, I know you ain’t comfortable with inconveniences like facts and the truth, but care to provide evidence that it isn’t correct? – Walters listed as gaining 534m in the AFL app for Saturday’s game…anyone can feel free to check for themselves (also check out his heat map while you’re there). Brad Hill was listed as 455m. – I also saw a stat yesterday that showed Walters attended 18 of the 31 bounces, which if you exclude the wings (and assuming it’s correct), was only behind Fyfe (27), Conca (25) & Mundy’s (23) attendances for the game. – He’s spending plenty of time in the midfield, maybe more than ever, and there’s a fair number who see him in career best form.

5 clearances doesn't make you a midfielder. Inside 50 is only part of the forward line. Watch the replay....... Walters possessions were primarily in the forward line and inside the centre square, freddy can see that ! Walters is on his way to become a AA player and you can bet it will be as a forward NOT a midfielder. Sonny is a forward /mid in fantasy football, not in the real stuff.

5 clearances too (equal 3rd with Mundy and Tucker, after Fyfe and Conca, with 10 apiece). What are you doing getting clearances, Sonny? You're a small forward ffs! Get back in position.

After yesterday's game you'd have to say that Sonny is a terrible small forward. Sure, he kicked 6 goals, but with his 5 inside 50s (equal third most for Freo, along with BHill, after Fyfe and Tucker, who had 7 apiece) it would be remiss of us not to point out that a good small forward would have been on the receiving end of those entries, not the one launching them inside. Pick up your game, Sonny.

All we need Anon is a WA born coach..... Justin Longmuir Ex docker player is the man. Freo are improving with Ballantyne, Sandilands, Johnson, D. Pearce and the list goes on gone. It took way, way to long to happen but Ross is still not the man. He promised a premiership by 2020.

Thanks DKMAF, No the best doozie of all is some one who tells porky pies to try and win a debate. Walters more metres gained than Brad Hill is the biggest doozi of all time. No wonder AD thought it was extraordinary because it is false. To a lesser degree Fyfe is a mid, Mundy is a mid, Brayshaw is a mid and plenty of part time mids as well. Walters is a forward he might be a forward/mid in the fantasy football games like super coach but in the real stuff he is a forward. He is well on the way to winning a AA as a forward, He will not win a AA as a mid.

That's my point. Being a WA team they have a huge advantage in attracting players. WA-born basically dictate they be traded back to a WA team. These are advantages that the North Melbournes and St Kildas of the world don't have. They've had Hamling, Brad Hill, Wilson, Hogan, Lobb, McCarthy, Matera all fall in their lap in recent years. A St Kilda can't compete with that. Not to mention Fyfe (best player in the league), Walters (best small forward in the league), Mundy in the middle. Brand new $100 million training facility. They should be up there every year like Geelong, West Coast, etc with their kind of advantages.

You mean the list where they have turned over 40+ players in the past 3-4 years? On the weekend there were about 5 players who were in the side 4 years ago. Players like Hamling Logue, Brayshaw, Wilson, Brad Hill, Matera, Hogan, Cox, Conca, Bewley, Switta, Darcy were not at Freo. You really are delusional

He's definitely a remarkable footballer. - The thing is anonboy only started talking up Walters as a forward once there was greater media focus on Sunny's midfield role. It was pretty obvious ploy to try and use this as a stick to hit Lyon, along the lines like "taking an elite small forward and making an average midfielder, tsk, typical...". - This came some time after he'd already started his midfield stints and you could see from the get go how much his creativity, footy smarts and killer skills would add to the team across a greater portion of the ground. - There was also already evidence (averages and specific) that mixing it up in the midfield, Walters could still be as, if not more, productive goal-wise. Not only that, he was already racking up some elite contested numbers in his time in the middle. - It's why I have to laugh when anon goes out of his way to praise Sunny as a small forward or there's the preposterous pretense he's not really running through the midfield. Just a further sign he can't let go and needs to confect some false reality to keep up appearances.

... wouldn't driving to the footy be a weird decision? From what I gathered on my trip to Optus (which, for the record Dalgety, I didn't jinx this time!) public transport is the best option. Anyways, my facetiousness aside, I didn't realise he'd gained more metres than B. Hill or Fyfey. That's extraordinary. Walters is just so, so, so, so good.

Ahh if it ain't Jon "I'm a real Boy" Barron. - Really? - Is that what you picked up from going to the game yesterday? Cares to tells us where you sats and maybe whethers you droves it or caughts da public transports? - So I guess the fact he got 17 of his 25 disposals outside the F50, gained more metres than Boak, Fyfe or Brad Hill is typical small forward fare?

Ok Don i will take your word for it he obviously played a great game. I did not listen to the radio as i was at Freo's game. I actually did read the match report looking for information on Bennell.

Stats are often wrong. Just a person in the club rooms taking them at WAFL level. You'd better read the match report. You can read all about them. Worth your while listening to the radio broadcast. You can follow the whole game then. Information is always more useful than personal prejudice against certain players.

Porky Pies again Don. Check the official stats from the game Ballantyne-7 disposals-1 tackle.Frees For-Nil. Frees Ag.-Nil score one(1) behind. Very poor effort for mine. Could you answer the Bennell question ? I am sure others would like to know as well.
