The Geelong Cats will look to flex their muscle over the hapless North Melbourne Kangaroos as Round 5 wraps up at GMHBA Stadium. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:40pm (AEST).

Geelong had looked wobbly for most of the season and were finally made to bleed last week after going down to Melbourne. Coming off back-to-back unconvincing wins, the Cats looked a class below that of the Demons in a performance that raised several question marks over their 2021 ambitions. However, with big names returning, they’ll back themselves to right the ship.

It helps that it’s a winless Kangaroos side they’re up against this evening. North Melbourne’s first three quarters last week were the best footy they’ve played all season, but they were still blown away in the last quarter to go down by 41. There appears to be no way forward for North other than to play the kids and cop the beltings in what’s shaping as a wooden spoon campaign.

The Cats have won the last six meetings between these sides, including a 33-point triumph in their only game last season. The Kangaroos have lost seven of their last eight matches at Kardinia Park which, admittedly, is a better record than what many other clubs can claim.

I think cat supporters are in denial. Cameron will not help a team with a poor game plan and too many out of form players. I've seen witches hats move faster. Any middle of the road team would've beaten the cats on that performance. They will get better if only because they cant get much worse.

You will know in a month Pablo Cruz .Eagles , Tigers , Swans and Saints .If the Cats are any good should win three of those games .BTW Max Holmes the player we got with Richmond's first round pick was bog in the twos again so he looks a likely type .

Chuckakhan which of the players that Geelong traded there future for are you referring too today .Average win but did have 15 more scoring shots and some days at Kardinia Park it's a slog .If Cameron plays as expected next week should straighten the team up .The Cats have debuted 3 first gamers in the five matches so some balance in your comments wouldn't go astray .Have won three of the last four do that again in the next month sitting 7 and 3 should be 4 - 6 with a good run home .Cheers .

Some positive signs today from North up till half time and Noble seems to be a calm and steadying influence around Arden Street despite the 0-5 start. I suspect he'll still need a few more weeks to get the blueprint in place that will lead North forward.

Hopefully its a flip of the 2019 switch, garbage early on, but premiership stuff towards the tail end of the season. No point catching on fire now only to fall of a cliff again later

Clearly still a poor, pedestrian start to the season.. time for some patience from the Cats faithful, still plenty of time to pick up form and momentum, just keep notching the scrappy wins in the meantime so we're still in contention later on. Think we're all hopeful of a tigers style late season turn around.. will it come though, that's the question. I'm still optimistic, but atm we look like crap, and that needs to start changing from next week or things could get ugly fast

he is right I'd say, as he limped off injured near the end. His kicking improved dramatically last season, hopefully he can rediscover that form again soon, as aside from duncan we look like poo going inside fifty atm

Honestly, why do they even bother? It's such a momentum killer, perhaps not in that instance, but in a close game filled with speed and fury, who the hell wants to 2 minute review of a potential behind? Mind boggling stuff lol

Exactly, we're all disappointed with the start to the season, but on the flip side we've seen the opposite before, alai 2019, and that didn't lead to a premiership either. So for now there remains plenty of time to set things right, and hit form at the right time of the season. Hopefully Cameron back next week helps to speed things up!

Week five. Long season. Just down on precision. See how they are after the next four.

Man if I was a Geelong supporter I’d be furious. They traded away their future to be a threat right now and they’ve been lethargic today.
