I just really don't understand the appeal of JOM - unless he can become a half forward that kicks goals. For me he should be behind Serong, Brayshaw, Young, Fyfe, Johnson, Erasmus and Brodie in terms of getting a midfield spot.

I agree with you but I'm not sure JL will drop JOM to Peel though I wouldn't mind seeing it happen.

I think Simpson should be the sub - the sub should be an impact player that adds X factor. O’Meara and Erasmus are both inside mids, they aren’t ideal subs to come on and make an impact in a short period of time - pick one of them (I’d go with Neil and give him an extended run), the other plays at Peel and play an impact player like Simpson or Delean.

I wonder if that had something to do with Dixons chat with Hinkley at quarter time, just bombing it in there played into Freo's hands.Doesn't suit Marshall game either,no forwards came out leading much and when there was a better options available we didnt use them.Thought it was bad coaching and if we had lost I think more would be said about it

Yes I don't get what OMeara brings either. I think he's too slow for the forward line. Hoping Freddy is back soon and Simpson will need to prove himself at Peel before being selected I feel. Pity he was unwell this week.
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
Jack Delean will be a long termer there. Cody Weightman 2.0

Did you see Pearce tunnelled by Georgiades when Charlie took that mark? Did you see Horne-Francis’ hand on Walker’s shoulder when he took that mark? Did you see the refusal to give Banfield a chance to enter the forward 50 with a free when Butters took him in the head? All in the last 5 minutes.
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
If your club is brought to Freo's level, you're going to have a great season.
Don Freo

Without umpire assistance, that's what we see from Carlton. You seem to acknowledge discussion around the 'arrangement' then you plead ignorance, reverting to literalism. You can't play it both ways and expect anything but to be dismissed as a Frodo type...a plaything.
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
You seem to have missed the whole conversation. Pointless being on a discussion page if you don't follow things.
Laurie
Roar Rookie
I reckon Finlayson being out was a big part of that. He’s the link man up there around the 50 metre arc.
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
Not Johnson as a sub. He was poor yesterday but good all year. Hughes has to go. Erasmus can easily do what Banfield, Walters, Hughes, O'Meara all do...just more desperate and more effective. Thankfully, Chappy comes back too.
ScottyJ
Roar Rookie
Yep Darcy in Tabs out. Give Ras a full game and Johnson aa sub. Chappy probably needs another run at Peel but I'm not against him coming in for Hughes. If Freddy is available then OMeara is the one most vulnerable.

No Freo lost Don, I had a look at the ladder, I don’t think that a “conversation” can change fact Don, Only a fool would believe that. By the way I saw that the blues lost by 2 points last night was that because umpires are fallible or was it part of the Carlton “arrangement”.

So Freo were guaranteed to get a goal in the last 44 seconds.
Why didn't they do that last night?Don Freo
Roar Rookie
Only if McKay doesn't have Pearce on him.
Don Freo
Roar Rookie
Oh not at all. I'm more concerned aboutt the fabricated second kick that denied a contest for the last 44 seconds. It was a Freo win until the umps took it out of Carlton's hand and said, "Here, let us help..."

Not forgetting GWS

A dour struggle as anticipated Don but I tend to agree that these two teams will be tough nuts going fwd as they are physically strong and have such good mids. Just need need Darcy back asap to assert more influence

Definitely, tough games ahead and a mounting injury list. But at least we can score
