Hawthorn must head west to face a red-hot Port Adelaide outfit minus captain James Sicily but full of belief. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:45pm (AEST).
The Hawks have won two in a row to climb off the bottom of the ladder, but in a blow, the inspirational Sicily, fresh off a best-afield performance against St Kilda, will miss this clash due to suspension.
That looms as proving crucial against a Power outfit on an eight-game winning streak, especially one which welcomes back key forward Todd Marshall from concussion, and going well enough to force captain Tom Jonas to earn his spot back in the SANFL after missing last week’s win over Richmond with his own one-match ban.

I haven't heardnthe presser yet actually. That's about the only thing that was a little concerning was how easy the hawks moved it forward at stages but otherwise you couldn't really not be happy with that game. Huge game Friday night,.it's so weird we only played them like 5 weeks ago or something and haven't played everybody else yet but hey.lol.

Hawks like to play fast footy,to come out and blitz them early was good, think playing Dogs at Marvel stadium on friday night was on Hinkleys mind, that is a very fast track.Hinkley didn't seem concerned in his post match presser

Would of been nice to keep pushing and get it out to over 100 but I think when we got 90 odd points up and I said to the gf, nothing good can happen from here now injuries are a huge worry, the players must of thought the same thing and took the foot off the gas. The gf was also laughing at me and feeling sorry for spp as he dropped marks and tripped over himself with the knowledge Adam had him for a goal in a multi, hopefully I just ruined his game and not career was her comedy gold.lol. I dont think ive seen a start and half like that from Port since that semi final against Richmond in the prisonbars when Trent choose to kick into the wind. Great fight back by the hawks in the second half and although we probably did check out early they still fought hard and didn't drop their heads.

Check the pies game, they put the cue in the rack and didn't even wait for 3/4 time

I mean it kinda does when percentage may determine the make up of the top four. Given how things were at half time Port disappointed in the second half

Doesn't matter how many goals you kick if you win.Port have won 9 straight so they kick more than the opposition I think,we can't kick less and win

Can’t afford to lose Lycett now,Teakle is out for a couple of months so its Sam Hayes or young Dante Vincentini

That first half was brutal and efficient.Well done hawks for hanging tough

As far as 9 goal losses go, that wasn't too bad.

Guaranteed if the Pies are up by 100 they won't put the cue in the rack. Sides like the Lions and Hawks had killer instinct where they just wanted to thump the side they were playing. It sometimes separates the premierfrom the contender. Hawks played a really good second half and their effort and willingness to fight the game out shouldn't be discredited.

Yeah that’s between the ears of Carlton players. I don’t think it is solely to blame on Voss Carlton needs wholesale changes to its coaching department and it’s list management space

Nice win. No injuries. Young side out there today. Some experienced players will return soon. Dixon Boak Jonas Dursma. Josh Carr has the midfield going better than Voss did. Well done to the Hawks in the last quarter. Resting Lycett was a good call. Don't want to injure him in junk time

He's no Clarko. Won't be happy with the lack of pressure in the first half but will be pleased how the young Hawks edged the second half.

At least we did not see the Port Powers coach dancing like a schoolgirl who got her first date.

Gee GWS how many players do you have that are better value than Finlayson? Not just today

Yep the Carlton culture isn't the fault of the last 5 coaches
