I have had this chat with others before. Everything you mentioned plus they play with 2 less players. Absolutely absurd from the AFL. There’s no shame playing on suburban grounds. It’s even more embarrassing a look getting 1000 ppl into a 50,000 seat stadium.

Totally agree Tom. If it had still be say 8 teams, the product would have been much better now. Take the WBBL for instance, it has improved out of sight in the short time it has been in existence.

If hanging his hat on the AFLW is all he has then it’s a glaring failure. Starting the competition is a huge win but these poor women haven’t had the same start date 2 years running. Even until recently they didn’t know when the next season was starting. Absolute amateur hour!

Rankine, Dawson, Horne-Francis, it’s only an issue for the non traditional footy states normally and even that’s slowly fading.
Sydney can now attract interstate free agents as can Brisbane.
The hardest hitting factor now is small clubs v big clubs. No one wants to go to a North or St Kilda.

How about we at least wait until they miss the finals for more than one season then make the call. Being a hawks fan, I’d love for them to fall off a cliff but geez, the more everyone calls it, the better they go.
Having said that, the loss of Selwood seems to be seismic in scale. His will to pick up his team and carry them with him when all seemed lost was unreal.
