The first preliminary final sees the Port Adelaide Power tackles the Richmond Tigers in what’s set to be a blockbuster at the Adelaide Oval. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:50pm (AEDT).

The minor premiers passed their first hurdle with relative ease two weeks ago, taking full advantage of Geelong’s inaccuracy to claim a 16-point win and progress to their first preliminary final since 2014. The Power have sat atop the AFL ladder since the very first round of the home-and-away season and enter this match having won six matches in a row and nine of their last ten. They’ve also only lost once at home this season.

Richmond, on the other hand, got themselves back on track with a comfortable semi-final win over St Kilda last week. After mental lapses and poor discipline cost them against Brisbane in their qualifying final, the Tigers got back to good footy against the Saints and put their less experienced rivals to the sword in smart fashion. Richmond had won six in a row coming into finals and look to be in just as good form as their opponents tonight.

Port took the points when these sides clashed in the home-and-away season, a 21-point point triumph in Round 11. The last, and only, time these sides have met in a final was 2014’s elimination final, where the Power kicked 14 goals to three in the first half to run away with an emphatic 57-point win.

The Richmond Tigers ,just don't loose. They do not beat themselves and are a very smart tight group of players that can match up and play any way you want. The Power seem to come across as a mirrored reflection of Richmond and are quite often too Strong and dominant for many of the AFL teams .Either one of these two can kick your ass in a game . This was why the match up was one of the very best.

first real decent look ive had at young rozee, can see what all the plaudits are about, the kid sure can play … couple of ‘nearly’ moments, may almost have been enough to change the result

The only time I will be doing it, The Ghost. I think you will be playing Geelong in the Grand Final.

Tigers were too good. Full stop. All complaints should be dismissed as sour grapes.

Yeah that sucked. Canterbury got busted and were on the verge of winning the comp as well so happened to at least one Sydney team.

Any comments about Rozee Pozee? Great player, huge future but . . . did a few things he'd rather forget.
