Reigning premiers the Richmond Tigers host a struggling North Melbourne on the Gold Coast for a Saturday night game. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).

Richmond are reigning premiers, but they have not been in form for much of this season. Since the restart, the Tigers have won two games – over lowly ranked duo Melbourne and Sydney, the former in a controversially low-scoring encounter last weekend. While the Tigers do begin the round in the top eight, they look far from a top-four or even premiership threat at the moment.

Fortunately for the Tigers, North Melbourne look worse. Their form has been poor since their win over GWS in June, with four consecutive losses – including one last Saturday against Essendon – before today, positioning them 16th on the ladder heading into tonight’s clash.

In relation to the game’s Queensland locale, North Melbourne have been more frequent visitors to the Gabba yet have a worse record at the ground compared to their opponents.

Damien Hardwick’s side is unchanged headed into today’s clash. The Kangaroos have made three personnel changes, injured Paul Ahern and Tarryn Thomas among them. Aiden Bonar, Mason Wood and veteran Jack Ziebell return to the side.

Pretty good second tier then, if Richmond is 4th. I guess another second tier team must be the one in 3rd since they only drew with Richmond and were lucky at that. So which teams are 1st tier then PTS? Can only be Port and Brisbane I guess.

Yes I was there. What a day. Not as good as 2017 but I don't think that could ever be matched. But I am not the one making the outlandish claim that Martin wasn't even in the top 5 players that day, you are (and apparently "most people" ).

Weird comment Don. Very hard to have a conversation with you since nothing you say can be taken seriously. But then again, I'd be bitter and frustrated if I supported a rubbish losing Team like Freo!

Really silly comment there Don, even by your standards, which is saying something. Who were the best 5 in last year's GF then?

My original reply was lost, but it is along the lines of what Realist said. I was pretty happy with Martin's game on the weekend. His stats were not as high as others, but he did well all the same. Richmond have the luxury of being able to move Martin to the forward line because of the quality we have. The reason you think Fyfe is so good is because of the rubbish he has had around him throughout his career. The same could be said for a few of the others you mentioned too.

That's when he was carried by his mates. That's not happening now and, as a result, he's lost. I think most people agree he was not in the best 5 in last year's GF.

I was pretty happy with his 3 Finals games culminating in a 2nd Norm Smith only 8 games ago. I'd worry about Fyfe if I were you. He looks gone to me....cant even get on the park these days.

Just keep replies short. Otherwise (as per a reply to me above) he'll falsely claim not to read them. Again like Peter. I wouldn't accuse them of being the same person, but they are kindred spirits, that's for sure.

Tigers have had by far the easiest draw to start the year for any side in the competition. Pies by next week will have played Cats, Giants, Dogs, Eagles and Tigers, yet our percentage is still way ahead of you. Soft draw and just average results for you Dave.

Gee your harsh Pete! Tigers have had 2 bad losses this season to date (Hawks and Saints). We’re currently sitting in the top 4 only percentage behind your mob. Let’s be honest as well, Pies have had a few bad games too, thus far. Your team had a good hit out against the cats on Thursday night (I don’t entirely agree that DeGoey should’ve been allowed to play though, for obvious reasons) but your mob were touched up a couple of weeks ago by a struggling Essendon whom unfortunately I don’t currently rate as a genuine top 8 side. Please don’t take it personally on the DeGoey comment either, I just believe it’s not a good look in my opinion when an individual is facing serious criminal charges that is currently before the courts, but it is what it is and yes the individual is entitled to a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise!

Wow that's a long reply sorry I chose not to read it as it was very much going to be bs after I consumed the first few lines. When I need cheering up or desire being dragged into your darkness I might read it all.

Wow, that chip is only getting bigger. Such staunch parochialism is for the small minded. The only time I criticised McGowan was for some petulant parochial comments he made once, which weren’t worth remembering and as it turns out I don’t. I’ve never been against the border closures. Like your Collingwood supporting, fellow Richmond hating mate, you must think all Richmond supporters on this site are the same person. My questions on the temporary drop from 60k to 30k was reasonable and I read plenty of news outside of Vic, but may not see be aware of every single issue about every single thing in the world, so don’t be so childish. I know you like to claim your comments are banter, but they go beyond banter. There seems to be an underlying nastiness there, but I wonder if you know why.

You better hope so Pete. Pies will be outside top 4 next week and a game behind Richmond with that "dominant" percentage (whatever that means) dwindling away.

Do you think the flag can be won from outside the top 4 this year Ed?
