A group of stars return as the Western Bulldogs play host to the Brisbane Lions at Marvel Stadium to open the third round of the AFL season. Join The Roar for live scores, coverage and analysis from 7:20pm (AEDT).
The Lions were almost run down by a Demons side out to prove a point last week, while the Bulldogs are yet to get off the mark this season after consecutive losses.
Adam Treloar and Rory Lobb return to the Bulldogs team, passing their respective fitness tests throughout the week after missing the 51-points loss to the Saints last Saturday night.
Sam Darcy has had a slow start to the season, and he will make way for Lobb; while Taylor Duryea will be missing due to illness, with Treloar taking his spot in the 22. The Bulldogs have also dropped Toby McLean and Rhylee West who will make way for Jason Johannisen and debutant Arthur Jones.
The Lions will be missing veteran Daniel Rich off the half-back line tonight, but he will be replaced by the classy Keidean Coleman. Coleman has recently recovered from concussion symptoms and will play a vital role for the Lions tonight.
The Lions had an evening to remember last Friday with a stellar victory over fellow premiership favourites Melbourne. They came away with an 11-point win after the lights went out at the Gabba in exceptionally unique and bizarre circumstances.
Tonight, I am most looking forward to the midfield battle between these two sides, and to see if the tall forward line of the Bulldogs are able to stabilise and lead their team towards their first win of the season.
I am tipping the Bulldogs by less than a kick.

He’s a match winner & you lack them in spades. If you don’t make the most of this great start to the season l can see your team following Carlton’s script in 22’

Stringer is, I’m honestly surprised we brought him in so quickly particularly given the level of opposition the vfl side faced last week

Never begrudged him his chance to step out of his family's long shadow. Not his best night tonight but I wish him nothing but the best  Peter Wright is a more than adequate replacement; can't wait for him to get back out there.

Young Joe Daniher is like Julian Lennon, both are living in the shadows of greatness. James Aish and the Robran boys are/were not a patch on their generation immediately above.

Wasn’t pretty but it’s 4 points and the boys had a crack. That’s all we need for now.
