Not over the line at all. Hawks are not to be underestimated but they were actually pretty awful and flattered the Tigers who come preliminary final will have one 3 point win over the lowly Dogs and a soft win against a slow Hawks line up in a month of footy. Not great preparation IMO.

E. McGuire was wrong in so far as there was clearly no push in the back and thus no free kick to pay. However, he is a passionate supporter and barracks hard and one eyed like countless thousands of AFL supporters and good on him for doing so. Just because he is who he is, shouldn't stop him from allowing himself to be swept up in the emotion of the game as do so many us.

Also the fact that Melbourne had everything to play for in that game , Eagles were without Kennedy and Darling went down early in the first and were down a rotation for the rest of the day. Melbourne were without Viney and Hogan. Be interesting if the make it, I really rate the Dees, but never underestimate the Hawks.
Yes, but the biggest thing is the Eagles need to beat a Melbourne side who accounted for them comfortably in every facet of the game just a couple of short weeks ago in Perth.

The Pies did not lose to a side outside the eight for the entire year. That in itself is deserving of finals. You of course leave out the fact we booted Port out of the eight by belting them by 8 goals, stopped North's run by 8 goals, belted the Demons when they had won 6 in a row by an average of 65 points, lost to Sydney by a fingertip, but hey you don't think Blues, Saints, Suns fans would happily accept third place and a minimum of two finals? Fair enough Pieman, all you are doing is exposing your envy of Ed and Bucks.
