I’m not sure how his comments can be “misconstrued as per usual”, didn’t he say the words or is he like Agro and has got someone’s hand up his clacker that talks for him? He’s actually embarrassing the AFL brand a bit with his comments

It's a tough one for Eddie. He is the leader of one of the biggest clubs in Australia and has a high profile in the media. He is asked (and gives) his opinion frequently. He voiced his opinion that certain breaches should result in the offender being sent home.
It is the AFL that determines what sanctions should be handed out to players/coaches/clubs for breaches of protocols.
If one of his players or coaches offend, they don't have to be penalised under what Eddie thinks should happen, they should be penalised in accordance with the AFL guidelines.
If you think about this as similar to a routine tribunal appearance where a player punched another player. The CEO thinks he should get 4 weeks but the tribunal says 2. You accept the 2 and move on.
