The ODI leg of the West Indies tour of Australia concludes in the Australian capital. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 2:30pm (AEDT).
Australia’s top six were poor with the bat in Game 2 in Sydne, with only one player – the injured Matt Short – getting a score over 40. The injured all-rounder has been replaced by Ben McDermott.
Where McDermott fits in will be interesting to see, with a top-order player likely to bat in the middle order. Xavier Bartlett and Lance Morris are likely to return to the Australian XI, and Spencer Johnson could also be a late addition.
The West Indies have shown good fight with the ball, but their batting has been below average. Alick Athanaze needs to show better game awareness as Australian pitches have extra bounce compared to those in the Caribbean.
Keacy Carty has been the star of the show with the bat, while skipper Shai Hope would want to finish the series with a big score leading into the T20 leg.
Prediction
Since 2009, no team has won chasing in Canberra in an ODI. It’s a no brainer on what to do for the captains should they win the toss.
While it may not be a guarantee that batting first wins you the game, it makes winning a lot easier should history at Manuka show us anything. That being said, results are not at the forefront with individual performances and team combinations for the long term the bigger factor for both teams.

The death of world cricket Thank you T20 for ruining a perfect game. The bone head , dumbed down unwashed masses with the attention span of a goldfish are also to blame. Get off your goddamn phones people!!!!

Yeah totally forgot about Tim David. Agree, done squat with all the hype around him. Would just love to see them move on from Stoinis all together.

Thank you all for joining the shortened live blog today. Hopefully the T20I series with both teams close to if not at full strength makes it a competitive series with the T20 World Cup coming up. This is Arnab Bhattacharya signing off. Take care and an early goodnight.

MATCH SUMMARY: West Indies 86 all out (24.1) lose to Australia 2/87 (6.5) by eight wickets with 259 balls to spare Clinical. Absolutely clinical from the six time ODI World Cup champions. Never let the West Indies get any momentum with bat or ball. Some good depth builds for Australia while the men from the Carribean had an ODI series to forget, especially with the bat. Xavier Bartlett was the standout Australian for me this series, while Keacy Carty impressed for the Windies.

6.3 - FOUR Looks like Smith is missing the Australian open. Charges down the wicket and tennis swats it through the off side for four!

Just an inept Windies batting performance and wonderful striking by Inglis and Jake FM

Don’t get why David is in the squad either – what’s he done? In fairness to Wade his T20 record is better than Smith, and Inglis is a better batter as well in t20.

5.5 - SIX Short from Motie as the arm ball goes horribly wrong. Inglis pulls it away for six runs!
