14 balls? I thought it was legitimately 13 balls. On that boundary catch, the catcher didn't have a foot back in and touching the ground before he caught it.

I just wished he was a bat. But, who knows, he may go onto to be a brilliant captain and fabulous bowler. He could become that rare beast to combine bowling and captaincy. I hope he proves my (negative) stance on bowling captains. A Unicorn as it were.

Yada, yada, another story which is almost a repeat of what's already on this site. Does anyone know there's a T20 game on tomorrow between Australia & Sri Lanka? Yep, there is - and not one mention of it on The Roar. Sad days when a story about a coach who resigned days ago, trumps international cricket.

Spot on DTM. He's the reason why this issue has brought out so much enmity. If he'd handled this more professionally, I doubt greatly we'd have had all the noise coming from the ex players - well, except for Warnie of course.

Nah. I think Hockley is going to struggle in this role. He is well and truly out of his depth.

In another sense, he let Cummins claim the kill.

I think you are right "they (assume that's the players) wanted a new coach and hockley agreed to that over time and this was planned over last six month". However, if this was the plan before the T20 World Cup then why was Langer offered an extension to the end of 2022? The 6 month extension was like "we hope you don't mind um, but we're um, going in a different um, direction and so we don't um, hurt your feelings um, here's another um, 6 months". Pathetic really and that is the sort of talk that would have got Langer fired up. Hockley, should have taken it completely out of the player's hands (even if they had some input). After advising Langer, a statement to the media along the lines of "The Board of CA has decided not to renew JL's contract. We thank him for his service and will now begin the process of searching for a new coach." They tell us that professional sport in the 21st century is all about the process. Well, CA certainly stuffed up the process (again).

Cummins is clear the playing group wanted to move on from Langer . no dispute that they didn’t want to now and the players reported that to ca last year . they wanted a new coach and hockley agreed to that over time and this was planned over last six months . end of story . many were wrong on roar about the players not being the reason although there’s also a change they in systems with specific coaching no doubt and personal t20 schedules no doubt playing a factor and putting that personal gain first or prominently alongside test duties or in front of it needing a less intensive coach at the helm . players have spoken and got what they wanted

Nothing controversial here. Cummins spoke clearly and with purpose. No weasel words, no corporate buzz lingo, just a concise explanation on why he (they?) thought Langer's time was up. What's the fuss all about?
